Wow, this really does make a crappy looking remote so much better. We just bought a brand new 2016 Chevy Impala LTZ at the tune of 40K. They handed us the remotes and I was like "wow, really? My 2005 VW had these" No thought put into them. The car has a push button starts so you never use a key, yet the key is front and center with a pop out. So the opportunity came along to review this so I jumped on it. It was shipped from China so took a long time to get here. Once it got here, it was packed in a tin box with a foam insert. The unit consists of two metal shells, a plastic insert with the Chevy bowtie cut out, and a screw driver and three of the tiniest screws you will ever see. Basically you put the fob inside the two metal shells with the plastic insert in the backside. It's all held together with one of those tiny screws, so be careful. They give you extras, because if you drop one, forgataboutit. It does make the remote a bit bigger and heavier, specially with the heavy clip that it comes with. The remote looks a thousand times better but one thing I did notice, I guess because it's metal, it does cut the range a bit and the passive doorlock sometimes is fussy. Hence the four stars. The one thing I do question, they say it fits Chevy and Buick, but it only comes with the bowtie insert. My mom has a Buick with the same remote and her emblem is round so it would need a different insert so I am not sure how you're supposed to deal with that. Please note this was received for sampling purposes at little or no cost. This is to assist with evaluation and to provide comparisons with other products.
