My senior dog is very particular about being comfortable and cozy. The past few months she wouldn’t stay with me in my home office while I was working because she couldn’t get comfortable on any of her other beds. She would stay on my Tempur-Pedic bed all day and I know it was hard for her because she has always been my shadow. I put her new Dogbed4less mattress in the office today, showed it to her, and she immediately made herself comfortable and took a nap. We tried SO many beds, pillows, blankets, you name it and she didn’t like anything until this bed. We are both so happy and grateful to get to hang out together during the work day again! The microsuede cover is so soft, even after washing. I love that it has a separate waterproof liner to protect the bed in case of accidents. The bed is thicker than I expected, and I mean that in the best way! The covers are a bit of a tight squeeze but fit perfectly once you get the mattress in. I rolled mine and it made it a lot easier to put on. I am so happy with this purchase and so impressed with the quality of the product.

The BEST dog bed you can buy.... I bought one bed for my Great Pyrenees puppy. He is still potty training so I wanted a bed that was truly waterproof. He is currently 45lbs but will probably be around 110-115lbs fully grown. This bed will accommodate him as he grows. My first impression when opening the packaging was 'This bed is PERFECT - EXACTLY what I wanted!'. The bed is made with premium quality memory foam that is 4" thick! It has a separate, waterproof covering that protects the foam. In addition, it comes with 2 outer covers, one is a thick denim, the second is a lighter weight micro suede cover that has a non-slip backing. ALL covers are durably constructed with heavy duty zippers. When I opened the first bed, I was so impressed with the overall quality that I went online and order a second bed AND a larger sofa style bed. The size of the bed I ordered fits perfectly in his crate but also looks great in my living room. I put the second bed in my bedroom. Easy to put everything together. Be sure to let the foam expand naturally and read the instructions. The memory foam and separate waterproof cover are game changers!!!!!! No more trying to figure out how to clean, disinfect, deodorize the foam if liquid leaks through the cover (you know what I mean :) ). The memory foam is STURDY, comfortable and sooooo much better than the egg carton orthopedic foam I have purchased in the past. I tried the bed and would sleep on it myself. I went to a national chain pet store (for something else) and looked at their beds. They were selling beds for twice the price and much lesser quality that will not last. They were constructed with either the egg carton 'orthopedic' foam or shredded stuff. I envision these beds lasting for several years without the foam flattening. You can purchase additional covers. The beds come in several different sizes and cover options. This is a quality product at a tremendous price made by an amazing small business, Dogbed4Less! I don't leave many reviews, but this bed is worth the time. I have 2 male Shepherd brothers who's past time is literally destroying anything they've come in contact with. I was all set to spend twice the cost on the famous "almost indestructible beds" when I happened across this one. Mind you, I typically have to pay double for 2 of everything, so I was still skeptical even after reading rave reviews on Amazon. My dogs have already plowed, beaten or chewed their way through 6 beds. Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the quality of this memory foam compared to others as well as its thickness. The sheer weight of the denim cover was at least 3 times heavier than others I've purchased. The cover is snug, but roomy enough, so say goodbye to struggling with those tight zippers that break from mattress bulge. The zipper pull is made of larger heavy metal for ease and is still easily tucked in upon the end of close so my pups can't find it. The extra sewn band of fabric on the cover comes over the zippered area to conceal the zipper edge. Once installed in the crate, my pups are clueless where to find it. This item comes with 3 covers. One heavy denim, one waterproof, and one extra with non skid bottom for laundry day. Speaking of washing. I've washed 3 times and dried on low and covers look amazing. The dogs go in the crates for sleep only, I noticed the 1st week how comfortable and how well they slept over our baby cam. I'm now ready to take 2 more oversized ruined dog beds out of my living room and replace with 2 more of these. I never would have thought that we'd finally find beds that checked all the boxes like this product did. Lastly, I'd like to thank the sellers of this amazing bed. Top notch quality… Couldn’t be more pleased. Our lab is 12 now and having issues with her back legs and hips. We’ve gone through a couple of nice enough beds, but hadn’t tried memory foam until we found one at Costco that she liked. Only problem is that it was only a one inch memory foam topper over regular foam and just not what I thought memory foam should feel like. So when that one wore out, I did some research and found this one. This is as good as it gets and I’ll never buy or recommend any other bed but this one. Please check out my video review as well. Unpacking… The pad itself comes completely compressed down for shipping. Once you remove it from the package it says to leave it from 12 to 24 hours to fully decompress. Ours was fully uncompressed and ready after just a few hours, but we let it go the full 24 hours anyway. Smell… Yes, the foam does smell at first. This is normal and to be expected. We left ours open to the air for 24 hours while it fully decompressed and almost all the smell was gone. There was still a tiny bit, but nothing of any concern. After 48 hours there was no more smell at all. Measurements and foam quality… The posted measurements were accurate. We got the XL size which measures 40x35x4 and is perfect for our 75-pound lab. The actual pad itself is 100% memory foam. Not just a topper. It is firm and thick, and oozes down under pressure and slowly returns to its shape once the pressure is removed. When she walks onto it and settles in, it gives way firmly and slowly as I would expect it and want it to. I can easily tell she is being supported and cradled just right. Both my girlfriend and I have laid on it ourselves for long periods and I can attest personally to its comfort. If I step in the middle of it (I weigh 260 pounds) my foot will ooze into it, but not feel as though I’ve bottomed out. And when I remove my weight, the foam will slowly ooze back into shape. Covers… Ours came with three separate covers that fit over the memory foam. The first is a brown water-proof (or at least highly water resistant) pee-cover. This feels like a light weight nylon type fabric, sort of like a light wind breaker jacket. It covers the mattress all the way around and zips at one end. See more detail in my video review. The second (middle/inner) cover is brown and feels like suede. The top and sides of that cover all look and feel like suede, but the bottom is different. It is black and sort of a nylon-ish type material with small nubs over it to help it stay in place if it were placed on a smooth surface. It covers the entire bed and zips at one end. See more detail in my video review. The third and outer cover is blue denim. It is very dark blue, sort of like a nice pair of dressy denim jeans. The denim is very soft, sort of like pair of soft, pre-washed, worn jeans. It feels great to the touch and is just heavy and sturdy enough to be comfortable while still being rugged and holding up to hair and mud and your dog’s nails. It covers the entire bed and has a zipper at one end. All the zippers seem solid to me and easy enough to zip. See more detail in my video review. Moisture Performance… After having ours for just a week our lab had an accident overnight. She wet the bed and we discovered it in the morning. The outer denim cover had a wet stain. The inner suede cover underneath that was also damp, but not as much as the top one. The inner-most pee-cover had done its job and the foam inside was completely dry. Washability… We washed the outer blue denim and the inner suede cover in the washer with cold/cold. And dried them both in the dryer on the delicate cycle and low heat. Both came out clean and looking great. No shrinkage at all on either one. Very pleased. Assembly… Putting the covers on is easy enough. The bed is large and a somewhat heavy, but it’s doable for one person. We took the foam and folded it into a U shape, then pulled the pee-cover over one end and worked it slowly up. Easier with two people, but one can do it easy enough. It’s easier than changing your bed sheets. The other two covers go on in the same manner. Bend the mattress and work the covers over. Overall verdict… Highly recommended. I’ll never recommend another bed but this one. We are both so pleased with the quality, and our lab loves it. She sleeps on it every night and throughout the day she will go out of her way to lay on it. It’s large enough for her to fully splay out on her side, and seems to support and cradle her just right. She sleeps more soundly and seems a little less stiff after a night on it. The directions tell you to try it out for yourself before you give it to your dog. We did that. I weigh about 260 and I laid on it for a good 10 minutes or so, and I can attest to the comfort and quality of it. I’m so thrilled to have found this. Best dog bed I’ve ever run across having had dogs all my life. Yes, I love it that much, but no I’m not compensated in any way. I paid full price for it just last week. We purchased the XXL-size. Our dog is HUGE (traffic literally stops whereever we are and parents ask if their kids can sit on his back while they snap a pic). His breed does not suffer from hip dysplasia like many larger breeds, but it's still extremely important to us that his bed is big enough and comfortable. My husband and I have owned large dogs all our lives and I wish every one of them had been able to sleep, rest, etc., on a bed from this company. There are so many layers (gel, memory foam, etc.,) of comfort provided, with the bed still providing stability, durability and firmness. The 2 external covers are fantastic for many reasons. The only reason this is not a 5-star review is that when you make a bed that's this firm, yet as comfortable as this one is, I imagine it's difficult to find a combination of materials that make the bed ALSO easy to walk on. Once he's laying on it, our dog's happy, but the foam, gel, other layers & his weight, make it difficult for him to initially GET comfortable. I'm sure it's difficult for the makers to find the right balance, but that's what needs to happen. (On a side note: Our dog has a 300 dollar Eddie Bauer bed that isn't nearly as thick (and has no gel), but because he can easily walk around on it, circling, finding his spot before laying down, he prefers it. The reason (I think) is that the Bauer Bed has a denim cover 3 times thicker than the one that came with this incredible bed and it's so thick by itself, it makes it easy to find his sweet spot. That's what this bed needs.

I purchased this bed as a present for our Lab-Weim's first birthday. I had been waiting until this occasion to buy him a "nice" bed, because I knew at a younger age he would have just torn it to pieces. CUSHION: My fear was that the bed wouldn't have enough resistance to keep our big boy off the ground and that he would just sink to the floor, but that isn't the case with this bed. The pad is thick enough (and of high quality) so that he has lots of cushion between him and the hardwood floor. I'll admit that when we got the bed, I tested it out myself and it was very comfy! COVERS: This bed comes with a waterproof inner cover, and a durable denim outer cover. When I opened the bed, I immediately stripped off the inner cover and took it to the kitchen sink. I ran water over it, and sure enough, no water passed through! This was critical for us, because we have a kitten who thinks any kind of bedding is her litter box. I was also pleased with the outer cover, which has held up much better than the "fleece" stuff on other beds. SIZE: When I got the box in the mail, I was afraid I had ordered the wrong size, but then it puffed up quite nicely after removing it from the box. In fact, I was a little surprised at how large it was, and had to find a bigger spot to put it. I've included a picture of my 70 lb dog on the bed; he has enough room to stretch. SMELL: Yes, it was stinky at first. I took the covers off and put it in a room with the windows open for a solid week. It still has a s light smell, but not enough to be bothersome. I'm sure it will smell like stinky dog soon enough. Overall, very happy with the purchase. I only hope that the cushion holds up over time; I will try to update in a few months. ***UPDATE*** It's been a few months now, and I'm still pleased with the purchase. The cushion hasn't sagged/compacted at all, still nice and thick. I've washed the cover a dozen times, and it has held up just fine.

I am shocked by the quality of these beds! We have had Dobermans for 20 years so we’ve been through a lot of beds. I found these when searching for something for our 18 mo dobie and his senior brother. The baby chews up all beds. Especially all of the furry fluffy ones. I really don’t even care if he has a bed but his brother is declining and needs a soft bed. These blew me away for the cost! They were packaged so tiny but grew huge in minutes. The foam is really, really nice quality for a dog bed. The two covers are exceptional. We don’t have need for the waterproofing yet but eventually will. The covers are heavy and well made!! The bed fits into the cover not too small but not too large either. I love that I can take the top cover off to wash often and they can still use them without ruining the foam due to the inner cover. I have already run the vacuum over them twice bc the dogs shed so much that the lighter hair does show. They held up great even with the beater bar in. Will update later for longevity. Not sure if the dobie will attack it but my guess is no bc it’s so heavy. Both the fabric and the sheer weight of it. He likes to throw the beds around like a stuffed animal and destroy. These have some serious weight. Buy it!

We purchased this memory foam dog bed for our medium-sized Boxer. The size is a very good fit for her and does not take up excessive space in the room. So far, we are very pleased with our purchase (and I think she is too). Observations after almost two months: - I was surprised by the weight of the foam bed. Much heavier than the old polyfoam bed it was replacing. - As others have stated, the initial chemical odor was quite strong. We left the foam bed out of the denim cover for several days with the waterproof cover zipper unzipped to air out, but the smell was still there. After about a week, we put the cover on and began using the bed without a problem. Not noticeable at all now, and hasn't been for sometime. - Our dog had no problem with sleeping on the bed from the first night. We "tricked" her by also putting the cover from her old bed over this bed (old cover + new cover + waterproof cover...they were almost identical in size), so her smell was there. She could tell something was off as the squishy feel of the memory foam was quite different from her old polyfoam bed, but she got used to it very quickly. - Our dog sleeps very well on this bed. It is hard to quantify any differences there...she snored while sleeping on the old bed and she snores while sleeping on this bed. - After almost two months of use, there is no detectable indention in the bed where our dog sleeps on it. She weighs 80 pounds, so she is no lightweight. The cheaper beds would indent in no time. I am interested in how that holds up over additional time. - We have not had any bed wetting events yet to test the waterproof cover, but they will happen eventually. That was a big selling point for us as she has had a couple of bladder infections and accidents. Also, with aging dogs comes eventual bladder control issues. Time will tell on that aspect too. No regrets on the purchase at this point. UPDATE 8/4/16: We have now had this dog bed for about a year. Still no indention where our pet sleeps, and she loves it. All covers and foam holding up better than expected. UPDATE 8/17/18: Well...three years later and this bed has still retained its shape and apparent comfort. We continue to use another bed cover over the denim so we have not washed our denim cover extensively, but it still looks like new. Totally pleased with our purchase and wish I had found this bed even sooner than we did. Our ten-year-old Boxer agrees! UPDATE 10/1/21: Can't say enough good things about these beds. Our old Boxer girl is now about 13 years old and nearing the end of her life. This bed will outlive her. The first two photos of the bed alone were taken just today. As you can see, the bed we purchased for her 5 years ago looks almost as good as the day we bought it. Still as firm as day one. The denim cover has been washed an unknown number of times and dried on EXTRA LOW heat, and has never required replacement. We keep it covered with a beach towel most of the time as our old girl's bladder doesn't quite hold up like it used to. Was just recommending this bed to my neighbors for their new German Shepherd and Newfoundland puppies. Thought I would update my review and say, hands down, this is the best dog bed you can buy and is well worth the money invested.

Was looking for a huge bed for my old boy. This memory foam is so great for his old man joints. He loves it! For reference my dog in the picture is 157lbs. So bed is big enough for him!

My puppy is definitely a big fan of the bed. Even her naps are longer with the bed.

It was exactly what I was looking for and fits my kennel perfectly. My cat approved of it immediately and keeps hogging it. I hardly had a chance to try it out myself. My dog is more stubborn. He doesn't like change. He got on a couple of times but wouldn't stay, and then he boycotted it for a few days. His old ratty kennel mattress was all thin and flat, and you could feel the bottom of the kennel through it in several places. He sometimes has back/nerve issues, so I wanted him to be as comfortable as I am on my own gel memory foam mattress. But he preferred the soft, furry feel of the old bed. I put the denim cover on this new one (see note below). I first tried a blanket on top to entice him, which seemed to help temporarily, but it would bunch all up. Then I found an old flannel sheet, folded it up, and secured it down around the edges, between the mattress and the kennel walls. He's now in there conked out, looking comfortable, and choosing to go in without me coaxing/begging him. So I think it was the combination of getting used to the different feel of the bed and the denim cover that he didn't care for. A couple of very minor complaints: 1. The micro-suede cover that comes with it is VERY thin. I had planned to use this rather than the denim one because I thought my dog would prefer it, but I think it wouldn't be long before he'd rip it with his nails. 2. The mattress came stained on one side, but I don't think it was a gross stain (like pee or something - at least I hope not, LOL). The heavy plastic it wrapped in was ripped open at the top and that's where the stain was - a good size one. I tried to wash it a bit with soap and detergent and got some of it out. It's not something I will knock it down a star for, but I would have preferred it not to have a stain for what I paid.
