I haven't had them very long but they have become something I have order more and more of for all of my plants. They are very simple to use as you just push them into the soil and wait for the colour to change if it damp/ wet. The quality of the product of good as they are made from sturdy plastic. They are incredibly functional as you only have to look at them to see whether you need to water your plants or not. I have found that they have been quite accurate with the level of wetness in the soil as I've used a water meter to test alongside to make sure they are doing what they should be.

For many years I've struggled to keep my houseplants consistently healthy and happy. A large part of this is due to my ADHD - I have a poor memory for the passage of time (did I water them two days ago or two weeks ago? Who can say?). I had been using a plant care app that would estimate when to water each plant based on the species, pot size, soil type etc, and send me a push notification to remind me to water - this was better than nothing but it was only an estimation. Additionally (crucially) it still left room for human error /forgetfulness. These sticks have been an absolute game-changer! Instant visual indicator of which plants do/don't need watering. Perfect. No need to rely on algorithmic estimates, no need to keep track of their last watering, and no having to stick your finger into pots and get soil stuck under your nails (not for me - yuck!). It also means my partner can 'co-parent' easily as there's no worrying about accidentally over-watering. All sticks are still working great several months after purchase. I did have one stick that I spotted that stopped changing colour but I think it must've been clogged with mud or not inserted properly - a quick rinse under the tap and it was sorted. If you are already an excellent and attentive plant parent then you won't need this. For everyone else - this is an essential! My plants have never been so healthy! Also great if you go away and are having plant-sitters, or would be great to include if you're gifting a plant to someone - nobody likes the guilt that comes with accidentally killing a lovingly gifted houseplant! (nb - I bought two sizes of this stick so have posted this in both listings)

They work after a while bit fiddly at first

I bought it because I tend to either overwater or underwater my plants, and this seemed like the perfect solution. When it works, it really does help. However, 2 of the indicators stopped working after about 2 months (they stayed blue even after removing them to dry). So while the product is useful, I’ve learned I need to check from time to time that each indicator and see if they’re still working.

Easy to use. Work well.

On the 4th set already, enough said. With for outdoor plants too
