It has a gasket to protect it from the elements. I have mine mounted outside on my travel trailer to quickly turn off my battery and there has been no issues. **Q: How many amps will this switch handle at 12 volts?** A: As you can see one guy says 275 amps. If true that's way way more amps than any RV battery circuit. **Q: Why did this item not include mounting screws?** A: My guess is that some people mount it to the battery box and some to a metal frame or fiberglass all varying in different thickness which would require a different length screw based on your mounting surface. **Q: What is the height of the switch? top of switch to base?** A: 2-11/16" square X 1-7/16" deep--panel mount. This would be the behind dash mounting measurements (panel mount). Over all mounted height,with knob-3", if you were to mount it on the outside of dash. Can be panel mounted by drilling a 52mm hole (2.1"). Wire access through any side.The control knob which cannot be removed whilst in the ON or OFF position, however can be removed by switching to anti-clockwise 45 degree position. This can offer a small level of security for you boat. Probably not stopping a determined thief, but it is something.The package does not contain any hardware other than the nuts and lock washers for the post terminals (3/8" studs). You will need your own hardware to actually mount the switch. It would be nice if it came with gaskets for both mounting options. It brings no gaskets.Overall, this is a good value for relatively lighter-duty applications. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Excellent seller disappointing quality *by T***D on Reviewed in the United States on 21 June 2021* Product has very small plastic tabs holding the conductor plate and conductor. As switch gets older the weight of battery cables and brittle small plastic pieces will break causing failure in the switch. I had no choice to go with this same switch due to space.
