Surprisingly delicious, cheap alternative to flying to South India for dream idlis
I had a late-night idli craving which, as you may well know, is not easily overcome. I made a great coconut chutney with mustard seeds and some curry leaf powder which does the trick when you can’t teleport to Kerala for breakfast. These instant idlis really did the trick. I’ve ordered some actual fresh curry leaves from Amazon due to arrive next week. One can almost forget making one’s own mava (almost). Note that one box makes about 8 regular size idlis.

Easy-peasy
Very easy to use. I don’t have a proper steamer so I used a large Le Creuset Dutch oven with a wire rack in the bottom and a 9 inch cake pan. The dhokla came out perfect. For a proper rise, you have to work very quickly after adding the liquid ingredients to get the batter mixed, into the pan, and the pan into the steamer.

Good! I’m pleasantly surprised…they’re a bit milder than some flavorful dosas I’ve had but for a box, sold! I went to SO much effort time and money to make these from scratch for a year, but they’ve never turned out nearly as well nor crispy as restaurants’. Being gluten free I’m glad there’s a lazy option - these! Delicate, soft and crispy..and the batter is thin enough you can just pour it into a preheated ghee/buttered/oiled pan..no little stick tool to flatten it needed😉

BEST mix for Uttapam, seriously.
I absolutely love this mix, and have purchased it many times. It is delicious. You absolutely need a tava in order to cook the uttapam correctly, as well as Ghee. I usually top mine with one of the indian mixes available, and maybe some vegan cheese. Delish.

authentic taste
great authentic taste and very easy to make, don't follow the recipe for adding in the milk, add in a tablespoon at a time until you achieve a stiff dough

Very bad taste. I was very excited when I ordered it but the taste is horrible. I had to throw them in the garbage.
