The first one I've had for years and it is perfect for applying an all over bronzer or loose powder to your face. There's nothing wrong with the first one. I washed it and put it in my travel makeup bag. This little gadget allows me to apply lipstick right down to the end of the tube. It's cleverly made to open and close early without any mess. It's a decent size, mind you, and more than suited for applying face powder, but I guess I got a little screwed up looking at the product dimensions. It still works great, however, and no hairs have fallen off so far (in the two days I've had it...), and I don't regret the purchase. The bristles are pleasantly soft, but not too soft to be useful.
