Excellent Tire Repair Kit
Good quality and value. Has everything you need now and might need in the future. I patched a tire and it was easy and worked perfectly.

Hard to use on new tire designs.
The tool for making the hole large enough to accept the plug is dull. It would not bit into the tire enough to go in and do anything. It looks like it should be like a drill bit/screw that goes in when pressed and turned. After much struggling I had to use first pick then a screwdriver to enlarge the hole so that the included rasping tool could instead be used. I have new and very good tires. Plugging new design tires I found out is very hard. They have kevlar and more reinforcement than older tires. Mine also have a layer of goo that seals small holes. The goo fills the tools making them not work well to enlarge the hole. Not a tool issue. Next time I'm taking it to a shop. The tire plug material does not handle heat well, in 90-95 degree heat it melts and you cannot push it into a tire. I went through ruining half the plugs in the kit trying to get them to go in and stay. In 75-80 degrees temp it works somewhat but is till very gooey and difficult to use. My plug material was orange and flat/gooey looking, in the product pictures it shows a black product that looks like licorice. Maybe the kit with black material works better or maybe I got a bad batch of patches. Storing this kit in my car and needing to do a repair on a hot day would be impossible. Unknown if plug will hold, the material is very soft and pliable. The material says "self vulcanizing", but vulcanizing is a chemical process that is impossible for this as the plugs do not come sealed and there is no 2 part chemical process in this kit involving sulfur and heat or uv. If they were self vulcanizing then they would of vulcanized in the toolbox. Vulcanizing patches do exist, but those are done by auto shops after removing the tire from the rim.

hit and miss
hit and miss on this one. Kit is nice, box is convenient. The problem is with the actual plugs - they are NOT "round" and very poorly made, they snap in the half b4 it goes in to the tire all the way. Too me 3 tries to finaly insert one to plug the hole (66% waste) - just for the record, i plugged many tires in my life, i know how it works. Anyways, got replacement plugs from parts store on sale and replaced those crappy ones that came with the box. Everything else is great - but do not recommend unless you get new refills somewhere else.
