I bought this book as a gift for my dad for Christmas, hoping it would introduce him to the basics and maybe spark some curiosity. He's not someone who typically reads about science, but always asks me some far-fetched questions, so I wasn't sure how it would go - but to my surprise, he enjoyed it! This book does a great job of making complex topics feel more approachable. It breaks down ideas like wave theory and quantum mechanics in a way that's easy to follow, even for someone with no background in the subject. That being said, some parts were still a bit tricky for him to wrap his head around (which is fair, quantum physics is pretty mind-bending!). But I am glad that it got him thinking, asking questions, and engaging with concepts he'd never really considered before, and assumed the whole thing was a hoax! By the end, he said he still wasn't sure he believed everything he read, but it definitely made him curious - which is exactly what I was hoping for. If you're looking for an accessible introduction to quantum physics that gets people thinking without overwhelming them, this is a great choice.

This is a good introductory book on the subject of Quantum Physics, although it will help if the reader has a scientific background. It is well written and explains the concepts well. Be prepared to have your mind stretched and engaged with some challenging ideas.

I gained a Chemistry degree over 50 years ago and so I already had some knowledge of quantum physics. However, even then I found the book most usefull and I can recommend it.

explanations are very explicit and you immediately get the idea being discussed , very interesting content .

Started off good but then the author forgot his audience about half way through.

Great introduction to Quantum physics for the layperson. It did answer a lot of questions for me and left me with a lot more. This is a good thing.

Although not a coffee table thickness, Pratts clear and consice writing style provides both the intermediate scientist and the total beginner the answers they are looking for to a fasinating subject they many find too mysterious to even tackle. It's very well Illustrated which becomes quite helpful in answering many questions that have sparked interest in a difficult subject. Along with the book, the bonus files are interesting and really fun! I encourage anyone with an interest in this topic to take advantage of this great value and order today.
