With the exception of Great White Sharks, each different creature is discussed on two facing pages. The print is large and easy to see; there is not so much text that it overwhelms a child reading the book. The illustrations look much like the animation from the “Wild Kratts” television show. “Wild Kratts Wild Sea Creatures: Sharks, Whales, and Dolphins!” is an excellent book with which to encourage young readers. My grandson has been willing to try reading this book aloud. It features some of his favorite PBS characters; it is short, but not too short; and, Martin and Chris “Activate Creature Power”! Review: excellent reader - This reader is interesting and educational. It combines fiction because they use their “creature powers” and a lot of non-fiction as it is full of animal facts. It isn’t a story with bad guys like in the show. The book is a collection of information about sea creatures. This is a level 2 reader, but it is an advanced level 2 reader due to content and length. For example, it has advanced words like “ordinary” and “tentacles”. It is 32 pages long and a challenge for a child that can read some of the simpler readers alone. This book can be a read-aloud until the child is ready to read on his or her own. The pictures look exactly like those in the show. The illustrations are clear and help the children make observations and be able to understand the text.
