Really excited to have this installed because anything I put on my dash winds up sliding around on these curvy mountain roads. Just for reference I have a 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I read a few reviews complaining about the adhesive not being very strong and saying the tray covered the VIN, I didn't really want adhesive residue left behind if I ever decided to remove it, nor did I want to have to pry it off if inspecting my VIN ever became necessary. I chose to use 4 small machine screws to hold it down. I drilled pilot holes and did not have any cracking of the plastic. I put a screw in each corner. The ones closest to the windshield were a massive pain but I finally got them in. It's definitely not going anywhere and I haven't driven yet since installing it but I'm pretty confident it won't be rattling. But if it does I'll probably never know bc there are so many other rattles lol. There are a few gaps at the front corners but that's not a big deal to me really. If you didn't know it was an aftermarket item you would probably never notice it to be honest. Other than that the fit was perfect. I'm so happy to have some extra storage space!

I just installed this in my TJ. The idea of adding addition storage to an unused section of the dash is really smart. However before I adhered the tray, I checked to see if there really was an issue with reading the VIN, as another reviewer posted. Sure enough, the VIN is completely blocked. Additionally, if I ever needed to remove the center bezel to install a new radio, work on the wiring, etc... then I would have had to try to pry the tray off. To get around this, I opted to use a few strips of sticky-back Velcro to secure the tray. The Velcro strips are thicker than the included sticky tape, so the tray does not meet flush with the dash, but that is a small price to pay for the ability to remove it without damaging the tray or the dash. If the manufacturer had used Velcro as opposed to tape, and changed the manufacturing specs slightly, it'd be a flush fit. Overall, a good buy for the $$$.
