The Manhattan Project falls into the same category as movies such as WarGames and Real Genius so if you enjoyed those movies you'll like this one too. There is depth to this movie without dragging it down. I have my doubts a movie like this would be made today simply because for this sort of theme modern writers would prefer to go darker and gloomy. I realize this sort of movie is not for everyone and no doubt even in its heyday people likely thought it was silly.
