I've been in a constant, losing battle against sawdust for years. It gets everywhere. I finally decided to get a proper extractor, and this Evolution R15VAC has been a complete game-changer. This isn't just a vacuum; it's a dust-devouring beast. The two things that immediately impressed me are its power and its capacity. The suction on this thing is phenomenal. It doesn't just collect dust from my mitre saw; it inhales it, leaving barely a speck behind. I'm no longer covered in a fine layer of dust after a day of cutting. The 15L container is the perfect size – large enough that I can get through a whole weekend project without the annoying 'stop and empty' routine, yet the unit itself remains surprisingly lightweight and easy to move around the workshop. But the real magic is the power take-off socket. This feature alone is worth the price. You plug your sander or saw directly into the vacuum, and the vac roars to life the second you pull the trigger on your tool. It stops a few seconds after you do, clearing the hose. It's a seamless system that means you never forget to turn the extractor on. My Top Tip for Workshop Users: For everyday wood chips and sawdust, going bagless is fine. But if you're cutting a lot of MDF or doing fine sanding, do yourself a favour and buy a pack of the compatible dust bags. It will prolong the life of your filter, maintain maximum suction, and ensure even less fine dust escapes into the air. Bottom Line: This is a robust, powerful, and cleverly designed machine that does exactly what you need it to do, exceptionally well. It has made my workshop a cleaner, safer, and more pleasant place to be. An essential piece of kit. Highly recommended!

This is a great hoover for the price! NOTE: I've read the other reviews and they mention the filter getting blocked quickly. This happened to me, until I realised I could use bags in this vac! Complete game changer! (You can find them on Amazon) Now I can use this time and time again without the filter blocking, and without any loss of suction. I use this for prepping walls & ceilings before painting (with a maxxt orbital sander) and it creates literally no paint dust. Also use for sanding wood with equally impressive results. Great suction for general vacuuming after a job too. Really does do the job as well as any hoover I've used before. Felt a lengthy review was warranted as I'd consider much more expensive alternatives but very glad I gave this a chance. Yes, it's quite plasticy, but it's robust. Pros: Great suction, power take-off, fairly lightweight, good size capacity, can use bags! Cons: hose is on the short side (just get an adaptor & extra hose), no castor wheels

This is a good workshop vacuum. Its design is pleasing and practical. If operates efficiently. It operates with the supplied filter, and with bags available from others sellers on Amazon {advisable for finer dust/material.} Two Irritations....... The irony is that the "pass-through" /automatic feature cannot be used with my Evolution mitre saw {2000 watts} nor their table saw with the 1800 watts motor - there is a 1700 watt limitation. It would be inadvisable to use this feature for any extended period, if at all. A second gripe would be that adapters for their own machines need to be purchased separately and in the case of the table saw, from a third party. Howver, they are readily and cheaply available. So, one star knocked off the rating for this very good vacuum. It can still be used efficiently with the above mentioned machines and automatically, with smaller devices. I'm glad that I purchased it at reasonable cost. Recommended.

I bought this to use as a shop-vac, but to test it, I hoovered the carpet in my front room that had just been hoovered by a Dyson upright, the results were surprising as quite a lot of dirt, dust, dog hairs and fluff were collected! The Evolution R15VAC is lighter than a Dyson, quieter than a Dyson, picked up more than a Dyson and certainly costs a lot less than a Dyson! Typically I bought this just for nearly £100 just before the price dropped another £24! The capacity of 15L sounds like a lot, but it soon fills up given how powerful the suction is and how much is collected in a workshop environment. As a shop-vac, the power take off function is useful and saves a lot of messing about having to start/stop for each machine you plug in to the PTO socket. I haven't tried the thickness/planer yet (which throws out a lot of sawdust and chippings) but the table saw, circular saw and Jigsaw all worked well and nearly all the dust/debris was captured. I think I saw the PTO socket was rated for 1700W, but it ran my 1800W table saw with no apparent problems. Overall this is a very nice bit of kit, small, lightweight and sits unobtrusively in a corner sucking up all the dust and chippings from my power tools! Just have to remember to empty the darn thing!

Superb for dust extraction when sanding. However, you'll definitely need to use a Hoover bag to collect the dust, as otherwise it will block the filter. It does state that it's "bagless", and for the majority of workshop debris it's fine; just use a bag when sanding. They're not expensive, and you can get them on Amazon. It's also surprisingly good as a blower with plenty of puff. Compact, powerful, and easy to use, I highly recommend it.

This is a Great little Vac. Great Suction and has a Heppo Filter. Works great ad a Wet Vac also. I use it outside and in Workshop.

The main body of this vacuum is excellent, reasonably well made and thoughtfully designed. There is a small cubby hole for tools and the foam filter plus storage for the tubes that make up the vacuum hose. There is a cable tidy for the mains lead. The switch is big and simple to operate. The mains takeoff is something you would expect on a much more expensive vac, so points to Evolution for that. The suction is good and I have added vacuum bags to improve dust filtering. The bags are blocked by the main filter but this is a small detail for such a compact and portable vac. On the face of it, it is fantastic and does the job it is designed to do well. However, someone, probably an accountant, has been VERY MEAN on 2 items that you must hold and deal with at every use. Why for the sake of a few pence is... the mains lead made of a stiff plastic that is difficult to wrap onto the cable tidy. Even in warm weather this lead feels like it just came out of the freezer. It will annoy you every time you wind and unwind it. Also, the same thinking has been applied to the vacuum hose. This is the worse hose I have ever come across, it feels cheap, doesn't flex well and flails about if you try and wrap it around the vac. Another thing to annoy you with every use. Why do companies not make the "touch points" of items more useable? If this vac had those two items, people would feel they were getting a real bargain and a quality product. Sadly both will probably annoy customers each time they use this vac.

Bought to attach to cross cut saw and table saw both of which are from Evolution. Easy to set up and attach hose to either machine. Sturdy machine but feel tools a little flimsy but so far so good. The machine itself works efficiently and keeps my garage workshop clean. Also use it regularly to vac out the car which it does with ease.

If you are reading this; you are likely very similar to me, in that; I really research everything before purchasing and I always try to buy the absolute best tool for the job I have, within the budget I’m willing to spend. I wanted to buy a proper wet/dry vacuum cleaner for mainly DIY related projects around the house & garden. Over the years I've been using the house vac, like Dyson and recently Miele, and I've been abusing those products for the work I've put them through, from plasterboard cuttings/dust, concrete, stones, timber shavings, saw dust from my mitre saw, etc, etc. I did a LOT of research into which was the "BEST" vacuum to buy on the web, youtube and Screwfix reviews from trade lads. I did not want to spend multiple hundreds on a vac that isn't used on a weekly basis, so I set my mind on budget unit around €100. The main criteria was, could I find a powerful enough vac that could suck up all that building material, be relatively easy to clean, easy to store away and was portable enough for various jobs; whether inside the house or outside. I seriously looked at the Hyundai 1400 W unit, looked great, but many said the wheels cracked and it is a large unit at over 600mm high. I buy a lot of tools from Screwfix; so I looked at their Titan range; which also looked very good, but I eventually opted for the evolution R15VAC. Why? Really, because of the really positive reviews & videos from lads using it, and the power pass-through for power tools like my orbital sander. I was a bit concerned about a 1000W motor, versus others rated at 14/1500W and the small 15L capacity put me off initially. However, I can tell you now; the reviews were not wrong. It really is a very powerful unit. Does it suck up gravel, concrete dust, saw dust, etc; ABSOLUTELY. It is neat and easy to carry, 100%. Is it easy to empty, most definitely…..no hassle at all. Bang out the filter and air clean it every now and then; it’s perfect (no arsing around with bags). The tools storage is very good on it also. The only small issue I have; the hose and cable are a bit too short. Now; that’s not the end of the world and as it’s the only slight negative; it’s easy to live with. At the end of the day; you want a vac that has strong suction, is easy to empty and can meet your needs for construction, DIY or even cleaning the van/car. I would highly recommend one and I hope this review puts other minds at ease and help them choose this vac; as you won’t be disappointed.

Best shop vac. For very few items like electric planners etc. the provided tool plug doesn’t draw enough power but overall very very happy purchase. The noise level is bit lower than other shop vacs. It is built with quality for the price you are paying.
