- TMP 1000 Teleprompter – All Camera & Smartphones, Tablets – 17" Glass, Tray, Hard Case, No Assembly

If you have a larger cinema camera setup, this is the perfect teleprompter. It works for smaller DSLR camera's but it's made for heavier camera rigs. I recommend using it with two tripods. One for the teleprompter and one for the camera. It is limited when it comes to wide angle shots. I was able to frame a 35mm prime lens comfortably. Anything wider than that you will start to see a vignette from the sides of the teleprompter.

This is a fantastic little prompter, but it’s not designed to work effectively with the camera as depicted in its images. The two pipes that support the camera on the back end are not sturdy enough and tend to torque and wobble side to side. There’s nothing to hold the pipes firmly horizontally so they twist. This is with a Canon C300, which is not particularly large. It works well when mounted on its own stand, but it doesn’t quite meet the promise of being a complete unit. It also limits movement by the camera. If you need this and I do, it is not that great.

I purchased a Glide Gear overhead frame and was very pleased with product, so when I was going to purchase a teleprompter, the Glide Gear brand was important to my decision. It was well protect with cardboard and foam surrounding a substantial plastic case. It took about an hour to deal with directions and another hour to put together. It is very sturdy and the TMP 1000 has a large tray (13 7/8 inches by 12 3/4 inches and almost 19 inches on the diagonal), that accommodates my Lenovo Yoga 14 with just enough adjustment to get a great reflection. My biggest concern was the weight of a laptop on a unit advertised for use with a tablet. No problem.

Glide Gear TMP 1000 Professional Video Camera Tablet Teleprompter I guess I was expecting this to come with a tripod, sadly, It does not. The pictures seem slightly misleading. The first few have a tablet, a tripod, and a camera. The last few do have a tripod. I knew it wasn't going to come with a camera or a tablet but I guess I misunderstood. So anyway it is up to you to provide those things fortunately i had some of those things on hand. It was tested with a small handheld video camera of the tiny sort and all seemed fine. The camera shroud worked fine with it even though it was small. I did a test video I was able to read the tablet clearly and the camera was able to get me basically where I needed to be to look like I was talking to the person on the other side of the camera so I would consider that a success. Having never used a teleprompter before I do not have context to describe what is necessary but based on my limited experience I was able to download an arbitrary app--the company does not seem to have one. the app has to present the text in reverse or mirror this reflects off the glass screen that's roughly 45° to the tablet. You're then able to read this while looking directly into the camera which sits behind that glass and I guess one of the concerns that people have with teleprompters is a glare off the glass and I did not experience anything of this sort. I'm not sure about other versions but this particular pro version comes with a really nice case and seems to have the ability to manage very large professional video equipment. It seems fairly sturdy and has a robust build. All said and done it's not a very complicated apparatus but it has enough adjustments and attachment points to manage a variety of doodads, and setups. The glass stores well in the case but seems like it should have a bag of some sort, to protect from dust and lint and fingerprints. I think based on the price and the pictures, it is not clear, at least to me, that this does not include at least a basic tripod. Either the pictures or description should state this clearly. Because it is a pricey apparatus and for the uninitiated it is a disappointment to open it up and expect something resembling the marketing pictures and get something that does not. I can, however, with that caveat in mind recommend it because it performs its function, is plenty robust, has plenty of attachment options and is highly adjustable to accomodate all sorts of equipment.

This is a real deal teleprompter. Very sturdy and well made. Assembly was a breeze. Can’t wait to level up our videos!

I bought one of these recently, and it’s really handy. It works perfectly, it’s light and not clunky. You have good movement with it and the glass has no glare.

I received my order of TM 1000 without any issue and the assembly took ~25 minutes. We haven't tested out its capabilities just yet. I'll post an update review on its capabilities once my wife knocks out her next audition.
