These reader-favorite tiles are now updated for enhanced Common Core State Standards support, including discussion and writing prompts developed by a Common Core expert, an expanded introduction, bolded glossary words and dynamic new covers. Review: A science fiction classic graphic novel which was an enjoyable read. - Ever since I was a young boy I loved reading books and early comic books written by H.G. Wells and even though I had read this original book (which was published first in 1898) and saw two versions of the movie made of this book (H.G. Wellโs the war of the worlds); nevertheless, I decided to order the graphic novel version (Katherine McLean Brevard) of this great science fiction story. This new graphic treatment of the classics is designed for โreluctant readersโ and they are very educational because they include both reading questions and writing questions at the end this story. It also has a glossary. I think this graphic novel is a good learning tool for beginning readers or those who have trouble understanding the regular novel. I admit to loving this graphic novel which of course follows the same tale of evil aliens from Mars who want to take over Earth because their planet is dying. Since they are more advanced than humans and we cannot beat them with our weapons are we doomed? Read this graphic novel to find out. Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Martial Art and Warrior Haiku and Senryu). Review: Kids loved the movie - My kids loved the movie so I bought them this graphic novel to read before they read the original. They enjoyed it

Perfect for the classroom
I use this allegorical story within our horror unit. It's a great intro, for struggling readers, to see and understand the symbolism and metaphors visually. We get into some wonderful discussions and connections with how mankind thinks we are in control. I wish the publisher would do likewise with Island of Dr. Moreau.

Fun read for kids, but poor quality binding
Nice intro to the classic story and good to read together with my 6 year-old. Binding however was cheap and fell apart on 3rd read.

A reminder not to buy a book without a sneak peek.
For younger or lower level readers. I had hoped to find something a bit more sophisticated --not only capturing more of the story, but more of the essence of cool graphic novels--it was short on both counts.

Fell Apart
Bought for classroom use and the book has fallen apart. All of them have. Totally disappointing to my self and students.

One Star
I was lead to believe this was the graphic novel version of the book. Very disappointing.

Fantastic book!
My son asked Santa for this wonderful book. It was a Christmas gift, and he absolutely loved it! This is fantastic, and it's such a fun way to enjoy The War of the Worlds. Highly recommended!
