Will this tool work?** A: I know this is too late to help you, but this wedge works great on stairs. If you want to see it in action, you can go to any of the online video sites and search on Pivit Ladder Tool. The pivot grips very well to rough surfaces but could potentially slip on smooth surfaces like tiles just a like ladder could. **Q: The picture shows them used as ladder jacks how do they fit on a Werner ladder and are they very sturdy as ladder jacks?** A: They should fit fine on a werner ladder. They're really sturdy, I have never had one slip out once. But for safety precautions when placing on really steep roofs or hills you should reinforce the Pivit by putting a board or something behind it. **Q: What width walk board will this accommodate?** A: It depends which way you are using it.
