Review: A reliable, light-weight generator - This champion features 4250 peak watts of power and it's light at around 90 lbs. It's easy to carry because of the steel rail-tubing construction, and the gas valve and engine connector cable-plugs are easy to reach. The generator will run 6 or more hours on a single fill, which amount to under 1.25 gallons, despite their booklet stating it's a 4-gallon tank! My gas can holds 1.75 gallons and you can't empty it into the tank as it requires about 1/2" (I use 2") of clearance to safely operate. The generator runs quietly and the remote works, and is easy to reset, if necessary. My last Champion ran for over 2-years without any issues, but with yearly maintenance running around $200, it made better sense to buy a new model, especially when desertcart offered it at 50% off the retail price. I gave it a 5-star rating because of its reliability and overall features, however it is not perfect— (1) the wheels are cheap and wobble when pulled over dirt/gravel trails because they're held in place with cheap cotter pins. I removed the wheels, added 2" diameter larger wheels with short threaded axles at one end so I can lock the wheels securely with washers and lock nuts. Larger, beefier wheels allow for easier rolling up hills without any annoying lateral wobbling. But, when increasing the wheel diameter, you must elevate the front, short legs to keep the machine level on the ground. (2) unlike other Champion models, oddly, the ignition wires are too short, making it cumbersome to kneel next to the machine to view the wires when you're either connecting or disconnecting them. (3) the cheap plastic carabiner will eventually break and you could lose your remote control unit. I replaced it with a small, inexpensive stainless steel carabiner. (4) though the remote control works, when you change batteries, you'll be dismayed by the inefficient design in how the battery is inserted into the remote. I'm surprised they lasted for a couple of years without failure. Champion could have engineered a better remote as they are cheap to produce. Thicker plastic, how expensive is that. Think of automobile remotes. (5) the gas tank filter/fill gage indicator is a disaster as the filter slows the pouring of gasoline into the tank and the gauge is worthless, mine didn't work from the start and is unnecessary because you run the generator until it stops. No big deal. On the positive side, they build inexpensive generators that are quiet, reliable, some provide remote controls, and rail-tubing that makes transport easier and keeps the engine cooler and a steel loop to clip your remote control onto, in addition they are lightweight. I run a single demolition-type jackhammer on it without any issues, and it doesn't tax the operation of the generator. However, operating 2-tools simultaneously will tax the generator, thereby decreasing its lifespan. Finally, the steel tubing used to pull the generator along the ground works great, unlike some of their other models that incorporate plastic handles that flex, and are too short, which causes the generator to crash against the back of your ankles when you are pulling the generator. This version's handle is perfect in length and makes hauling it a breeze. I like using Champion's generators and all future purchases will be the rail-framed models. Review: Totally worth the investment - I opted for this because od the remote start. We can start it and shut it down without having to step outside. I've had issues before with pull cords on various things either getting bound and being too hard to pull and sometimes I've had cords break. And no strain trying to start it. Just the push of a button. In a month of regular use, it pays for Itself in fuel efficiency. I went from spending $40 a day/ night to around $10. It's a little louder than the small boxed inverter generator, but still a lot quieter than a regular generator. I am happy I bought this remote start generator and do recommend it to everyone I talk to.

**Q: Hows the noise level? All of these generators say about the same but people always tend to say they're much louder or quieter than the rating.**
A: At 25 ft, I can barely hear a low rumble from the generator over a window unit in a closed room. Standing next to it while running in either ECO or full power mode, I have to raise my voice a bit to talk to someone, but at 15-20 feet I can use my normal talking voice. My neighbor's house is about 150 feet away from where I had my generator running and she said she could hear a very low rumble inside her house with her windows open (I have a 6 foot wooden fence between us). For comparison, she says my other generator (older non inverter 4500 watt) sounds like a motorcycle on her back porch, so this inverter one is considerably quieter.

**Q: How high of a altitude**
A: I live in Wisconsin, about 1,000 feet

**Q: Can i run my furnace with this generator?**
A: yes, you could run your furnace with this generator, but most furnaces are "hardwired" to the fuse panel, so you would need an electrician to wire in a pigtail to connect to.

**Q: Starting in Cold weather**
A: If the question is “does it start in cold weather”, the answer is yes it does, but be sure to cover it when not in use if it’s left out in the cold.

This champion features 4250 peak watts of power and it's light at around 90 lbs. It's easy to carry because of the steel rail-tubing construction, and the gas valve and engine connector cable-plugs are easy to reach. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Champion Generator is truly a Champion!

I purchased my Champion 4250 Wireless Remote Control Generator in July of 2023. I was advised to run my generator every 6 to 8 weeks for 5 to 10 minutes, to keep it in good condition, and I did. I didn't have to use it in 2023, but I did in October of this year, 2024. Hurricane Milton knocked out our power for 2.5 days. I didn't install that general electricity plug for generators to breaker box, so I had to run electrical cords throughout the house. My Champion generator powered the following: large side by side refrigerator/freezer, full size freezer, 50 inch flat screen TV, 2 lamps, boom box, large microwave, fan on a stand, lantern, and cell phones and chargers for myself, family, and friends. All this was fueled using less than 5 gallons of gas. I ran the generator 12 hours a day for 2.5 days with absolutely no problems! This is my first generator and I prayed it would perform in my time of need and it did NOT disappoint! Neighbors would stop and praise the generator's performance and appearance, often asking where I got it from. So Champion, you have one mighty happy and satisfied customer! Thank you for making such a fine, reliable product! ***And no, Champion did not ask me to right this review. I'd planned on writing it earlier but life happened.
