40 Oz Stainless Steel Water Bottle

It is difficult to find a stainless steel bottle that holds more than 32 ounces. I am a thirsty girl, who likes to know from where her water is coming; and, these bottles let me bring plenty of my own. I actually own 4 of them now and I haven't been disappointed with any of them. At the time that I bought these bottles, there wasn't a lower price out there either. They are sturdy and can take a beating, so you don't have to worry about them getting damaged when hiking. You can clip a D-ring onto the caps and they hold up well. The caps fit tightly, stay closed until you open them, and they don't leak. These bottles also keep my water cold for much longer periods than plastic water bottles do. Who trusts the chemicals that leech out of plastic these days anyway? Overall, this is a nice, big, sturdy bottle.

Just right! High quality 18/8 stainless steel,it's sturdy with a nice ring to it,the lid fits watertight with a good washer(I think it's silicone), the dimensions are 1 3/4"diameter opening(big enough for ice cubes) 3"diameter for the main body, 9 1/4"tall, 10 3/4"with the lid screwed on. The lid is the same stainless steel as the bottle, the handle is hard plastic with a finger sized hole and a small hole for a lanyard as well, and gripping ridges around the edges for easy opening. I have already used it for carrying water for traveling on the bus, made tea in it and if need be, I could use it to boil water on a fire in an emergency, which is one of the main reasons I bought it.

Its definitely very nice and well worth the cost. The only issue I had with this is that when putting ice in it actually keeps that frozen ice sort of smell and imbues that into the taste. I dont know how or why but luckily a little clean out and shake with some hot water did the trick but I wouldnt recommend putting ice in it for this reason. That said im definitely going to order more as its half the price of kleen kanteen. I just wish they sold some 64 ounce ones like kleen kanteen does and id be 100% sold. I took one star off for the issue with it taking in the smell and flavoring of frozen ice as it makes no sense being its stainless steel and shouldnt retain any flavors at all.

I was putting together emergence kits one for me and one for my wife. I looked every where for a good bottle at a good price that would not break the bank and found this one and it meet all my hopes for one. I have tested them and they work over a fire to boil water fit into GSI space saver mug the only thing i would say wish they made a 32oz with wide mouth but thats just being picky lol other wise can't find a flaw in this they have meet my testing and came out on top very happy with them

I had just recently discovered all the badness that comes out of plastic bottles. During some research into finding a new "safe plastic water bottle" I found that even the "BPA-free" bottles can emit other toxins which have bad effects. The seemingly common sense approach I was finding was to just go stainless steel. So I found this bottle because I wanted as much water as possible (my last plastic bottle held half-gallon). This bottle is great! sturdy and the cap fits nicely. My only concern was the description telling you to specify which cap you wanted. Nowhere in the ordering process does it give you the option. I received the loop top which was what I wanted anyways.

I gave a 3 star rating for the bottle only, for the sports cap I'd give it only one (1) star. For the price, this is a good deal. I can't understand why so many of these 40 oz bottles cost around $35. The cap is well sealed and does not leak. Keeps water cold for quite awhile - that is all I've used it for. I've been using it now for 2 weeks and I am not happy with the sports cap. Wish I'd read the other review that mentions this. The cap does not stay up. Emailed seller who responded the same day. They felt cap was defective and within a few days had sent me a new sports cap. Same problem. If you don't want sports cap, I did, this is a great dear and a good bottle. If you do want sports cap, Do Not Buy this bottle. I will continue to use it for now, but I am on the lookout for an a reasonably priced alternative.

Update: 6 years later and it’s still one of my “go-to” water bottles! Yes, it’s got one or two small dings in it from being dropped by yours truly, but it didn’t break and it’s still fully functional. Finally found a water bottle to meet my expectations! Its "green", it holds half my daily water intake, meaning its easier to keep track of my water consumption and it doesn't make the water taste or smell funky. I researched water bottles for about two weeks before deciding on this one and loved it from day 1, although since I use it as my main water bottle I did order the kleen canteen sports bottle top (this one only came with the twist on/off top) and that really perfected it for me. Its easy to keep it clean, and seriously, no funky metal taste and no funky moldy smell. I've used it EVERY day for almost 4 months. It is a 40 oz water bottle, so don't expect it to fit in most cup holders, which wasn't an expectation for me, so it doesn't bother me. The lid never leaks so I just toss it in the passenger seat or in my tote bag.

Although the bottle itself is okay quality, I wouldn't say it is on par with klean kanteen because the metal can easy get warped and indented if you aren't mindful and accidentally drop it. Of course, I wasn't expecting it to compare to klean kanteen, but that isn't the main reason for the one star review. The cap is horribly leaky and has been an issue for me on multiple occasions, ruining paper work, my bag, friends car floors, etc. You'd think I'd learn but I'm not prepared to shell out nearly the price I paid for the water bottle just to get a sports cap which is made of plastic, because the reason I purchased this water bottle instead of going back to my camelbak was the appeal of it being ALL stainless steel.
