Martin Guitar Strings. What Can I Say That Hasn't Already Been Said?
Martin Guitar Strings are always good. I use different strings on every guitar I have. But I saw this deal and realized I could save about close to $70.00. No brainer! 25 sets will last me a good while! I will never need to get them again! (well, not for a few years) The price will be a HUGE difference by the time I use these up. Just seemed like the smart thing to do.

USED IN A PROFESSIONAL GUITAR REPAIR SHOP
Since Daddario charges way too much for their B 25 bulk sets, I thought I’d try these Martin’s. They are a standard phosphor bronze light gauge 12-54 acoustic guitar string. Unlike Martin’s Marquis, these do not have silk windings of any kind. Martin’s part number is MA 540. These have worked out really well so far and I may keep buying them unless I can find a deal on the Daddarios

Bulk Pack is a great deal, on sale...
I've always used and prefer Martin Acoustic strings. This is a great deal, when on sale(25 sets for $68)! Not even $2.75 a set!! But, the bulk box they are housed in makes it a little difficult for me to extract strings. I ended up opening the case/box and storing them straight on a shelf, and cutting a tiny hole in the plastic near the "ball-ends" and extracting them as needed. Putting a piece of tape over the hole will keep them fresh and from oxidation and/or humidity. You can also put a small silica gel pack in each plastic bag. I don't think there is a better deal on this quality of string, anywhere?

OK
The strings themselves are good. I did not expect them to be packaged by the string size, that is, all of the 1st strings are in one package. This kinda makes it an inconvenience. On the positive side they were a great price ans i did save a lot of money. As far as durability goes, like most strings they turn color rather quickly (oxidize). If you don't mind your fingers turning black when playing it's not a problem.

Packaging method ruined some strings
I like the strings themselves, this method of packaging doesn't work well. The .011 and .015 strings tangled a bit in the packing - so they stretched as I removed them from the box - some were ruined to I had hunt individual strings down at the local guitar store. I RV travel a lot so I try to pre-pull several sets at a time, so strings would be stretched somewhat well before installation, which I think started the "aging" process, some sets had dead strings going onto the guitar before I even used them (bad longevity, bad tone, bad durability). Other than the packaging problems, I like Martin Phosphor-Bronze pretty well. Not recommended.

Many bad knots on the ball end side
The first and third strings were often out of tune and the string wrapped around the ball end would unwind and break.

Looks good
I didn’t care for how the strings were packed. I tried to separate them into sets in zip lock baggies and came up a string short. By that time it wasn’t feasible to send em back. Oh well.

Expected to receive 25 packages of 6 strings. Got 6 packages of 25 strings. The box is used as a dispenser for the strings so don't throw it out or wreck it. Looking forward to using the strings. Delivery came on time.
