Don't be nuts save your back
I use this tool to pick up black walnuts. My expectations were low, but it really does work. The tool that hooks over the edge of a 5 gallon bucket make the process work quickly. I suggest that you buy the largest capacity to minimize the number of unloads.

nut wizard
This is a credable device that works well on hard shell nuts. It picks up the ones with spined shells but they are hard to get out so it was of no use to me on Chestnuts

Cool Tool!
I bought this to keep from bending over at the range. When you consider bending over several hundred times this tool is priceless. Is it perfect? No. Does it pickup 95% of my pistol brass. You bet. It rarely picks up rocks or foreign objects and is easy to empty with a 5 gal bucket and the "unloader" that is an option. This tool would be a bargain at $250.00 but thankfully it costs far less. Less, even, than a trip to the doctor's office!

No longer a skeptic!
I live in North Carolina where the acorn drop is at a record high this year! I tried to rake them out of my lawn but it was destroying the grass. I tried to vacuum using my high-powered vacuum/blower but few would vacuum and I was concerned about damaging the mulching blades in my unit. My wife found the Nut Wizard using a search engine. I told her that I highly doubted it would work and, even if it did, it would still probably take a long time. I decided to check Amazon.com because the reviews are usually quite comprehensive, prices are good, and I have had very good luck with both Amazon and the 3rd-party merchants - either at least as good as expected or they make good on it. The unit arrived in great condition and assembly took only a minute. In a nutshell - I am extremely pleased with the nut wizard! It works as well as advertised and I cleared my yard (not too large) in just over an hour. The only issue that I had was that some of the acorns that had been a bit mashed-in by two mowings primarily to remove leaves did not pick up - but it did for the vast majority of even those! This is a very worthwhile device

Great concept but nuts fall out when full
Great concept but nuts fall out when full. If you have a lot of acorns like I do it's better to purchase largest one or a lawn sweeper. Great for small areas.

Greatest Nut Picker Upper !!!
This is the greatest tool ever!! We have more acorns then you could possibly count. Buckets and Buckets and it goes on for months. We have an huge Oak tree in the front and one in the back yard. My husband is thrilled I found this ( thanks to a man I saw using it in his yard and told me to go to Amazon) he loves it and other people see it and they want it also. It has saved my husband hours of time and next year even more because he will have it as soon as they start to fall and not at the end like this year. If you have acorns or nuts or anything like this you will love the Nut Wizard. Carole Monaghan

Don't waste your money
This roller does a fine job of pushing the nuts into the ground. Unfortunately it does not do much to catch and gather them. The idea is clever, if only it actually worked. Plus if the shells have separated from the nuts this does nothing to gather the shells. It was basically a waste of $70. I should have used that money to hire someone to rake the yard.

Works for Queen Palm Fruits
I have two queen palm trees in my yard that are too tall for me to prune. They bear fruit about the size of acorns and drop it all over the ground. When I ordered this, my yard was orange colored from the fruit. It took about two minutes to get the fruits off of the sidewalk. It was easy and required very little pressure. A few of the fruits fell back out as more were coming in so I had to go over them twice. The remainder of the fruits had fallen on top of soft mulch. These were more difficult to get up because of the soft ground and the fact that the fruits were piled on top of each other. However, I was able to get most of the fruit up by applying pressure. Some of them were just too moist and just became flattened and mashed. I will go back to them and have confidence they will come up after a couple of days drying in the sun. The downside was that this didn't come with the dumper, and a full basket of fruit is heavy and sticky. It was messy getting the fruit out. I ordered the small dumper and when it arrived, it made emptying the basket easy. I highly recommend ordering the dumper at the same time if you're going to do a big job or use it to pick up fruits.
