It works for my needs
Good - I think it is my autoclave but the plates didn’t last long. Easy to use!

Good Quality For the Price
This was really good quality Agar powder. I used this for my biology class and we never had any issues with it. I got about 115 dishes made out of it and storing it was easy. For the price it is a good option. I recommend this brand if you’re looking for Agar powder.

Good, easy to use TSA agar
In the past, I've used Evviva Science's nutrient agar, and had good success, though I've mainly switched over to another supplier that has more formulations. However, I did like their product, so I thought I'd try their TSA agar. A couple of things; First, if you don't need to cultivate fastidious organisms, just go with their nutrient agar, as I believe it is cheaper. The second is that I currently don't have any pure cultures with which to test that this is indeed TSA; however, given my past positive experience with the company, I don't think they're likely to skimp on the formulation. I mixed up a small batch of this, as well as some Sabaroud dextrose agar for a little cultivation experiment (I thought about doing a head-to-head comparison with nutrient agar, but decided against it). Mixing was straightforward; it dissolved well in boiling water. It took 4g to make 100mL of agar, which was enough to fill 4 small and 2 large Petri dishes (the small ones are for growing lawns, the larger are reserved for streaking to isolation later). (As an aside, the large-print directions right on the bottle are easy on my presbyopic eyes!) After pressure-cooking and letting cool, the agar set well and was easy to inoculate. I don't have results yet, but I had no problem mixing and pouring the plates, and if there's an issue it's probably more my rusty technique than the fault of Evviva.

Does What It Is Supposed To Do At A Good Price
An excellent quality tryptic soy agar at a reasonable price. The powder form is more work than the prepared version, which only needs to be heated and poured, but it is much cheaper and stores almost indefinitely in its powdered form. The 100 grams of dried powder is enough to make around one hundred standard-size Petri dishes of agar at a typical lab depth. Tryptic soy agar is the most used agar worldwide for growing most microorganisms. It works great for home labs, homeschool labs, school labs of all kinds, physician’s offices, and just about anywhere someone would want to grow microorganisms for study. I use it for my home science lab to test for microbes on various surfaces, in garden soil, on garden plants, and for testing sterilization procedures (including for canned goods). The product description is accurate. It arrived in two days without any problems. I would definitely get this again.

Excellent Quality
This powdered agar is easy to mix and prepare. This 100 gram bottle makes 100-125 Petri dishes worth. This TSA powder is a good universal medium that can be used for many different needs. It is a universal growth medium for isolation and cultivation typically. Easy to work with. 5 stars.

Mixes up well. Grows stuff as it should!
Ideally, a person would buy petri dishes with pre-mix, but around here, culturing is more of a hobby than an industry, so this was a good value to make many, many, many culture plates. No issues mixing, and makes a good bed for all kinds of crud to grow and show itself. Really fun paired with a microscope to investigate what's growing around you.

great quality agar, performs as expected!
I am impressed with this tryptic soy agar. The price is quite competitive, making it an excellent choice. I decided to pour some plates myself and I found the set up to be very convenient. The agar dissolved perfectly, which made the process even easier. For a few plates, I used 4 grams of agar to make 100 milliliters of solution, and the results were fantastic.

Great for mycology!
Got this agar to use in my mycoligy Petri dishes. It works very well! It's very easy to mix and use, with instructions clearly printed on the bottle. You get a lot in each order and it's great quality agar. Definitely recommend!!
