Xbox Wireless Controller – White

For a Windows 10 PC, obviously this controller works great. That’s all I will say about that. I wanted to let people know about how well this currently works with a Mac (I'm running macOS Sierra 10.12.3 by the way). In short, it works great, as long as you are only playing emulators (OpenEmu, Dolphin, or Boxer). Its inputs are also read perfectly fine by programs like “Joystick Mapper”. Don’t even bother with Steam games though. Now for the lengthy version of that… This controller works great with OpenEmu. It reads every input without any issues, except for the guide button, but who really cares about using that button anyway (that’s the big Xbox symbol button that lights up). For Dolphin, I had the same results, however, I could not use the rumble motor in any games while using it in wireless mode; but you can still use the rumble motor in games by plugging the controller in and using the 360Controller driver that is available on GitHub, and then clicking on the “Pretend to be an Xbox 360 Controller” settings box (which is also how you can get certain Steam games to still work with it). For Boxer, this works, at least, partially. I don’t know if all of the buttons/inputs register, because that’s a bit harder to test. All I know is that I was able to play Doom 2 perfectly fine. For Steam (and other Mac Games), it’s probably best to just use another controller. In wireless mode, this controller doesn’t work at all, unless you use something like that “Joystick Mapper” program; even then, you can run into problems with some games reading the controller partially and in a strange way, which then messes up any custom mapping that you could set with a third party program. You can still get some games to work correctly with this by doing what I described in the Dolphin section (plugging the controller in via USB cable and using the 360Controller driver that is available on GitHub, and then clicking on the “Pretend to be an Xbox 360 Controller” settings box). One example of a game that works when this controller is plugged in is “Serious Sam 3”. Support for this controller is very spotty for non-emulator games though, even when you plug it in. In summary, this is a great controller (it's my personal favorite for features, layout, and quality for the money), however, you should only get this to use with your Mac if you plan on just playing emulators with it. It was time for a replacement and my gamer chose this controller. No complaints! No connectivity issues ever and it's still running strong.

I play most of my games on my PC - I work in IT so building a PC is a trivial task for me - I haven't gotten a prebuilt desktop in decades. I always like to have a controller though - easier to play on the couch, some games are wonky with the keyboard, and it makes emulation easier. For the past few years I have been using a PS4 controller because I already owned one, but it's a hassle to use on Windows. You need to install third party software for Windows to recognize it, its very temperamental, and a chunk of the features don't work properly because you're using said third party software. Getting the PS4 controller connected wirelessly is an ordeal too - again, since you're using third party software the controller never wants to connect. Steam has built in PS4 controller support, but getting that to function wirelessly is an even bigger ordeal than normal. So you're generally stuck using a wire. I decided to order the Xbox one controller because my buddies were raving about it. The difference between the two controllers is like night and day. First thing is, the Xbox controller is more ergonomic. It takes a little while to get use to the button placement, but it ends up feeling better and more natural. The shape of the controller fits your hand better, and the triggers feel much better. I do miss having the touch pad sometimes, but most of the time I'm just happy I'm not hitting it by mistake. The controller feels much higher quality, and it looks nice too. But the biggest improvement was the ease of setup and reliability. All you have to do is plug it in. That's it. No third party software, no finagling with steam, nothing. It just werks™. Even the little Xbox button works - it pulls up a context sensitive menu. Heck, I can even use the controller outside games with no issue. Setting it up over bluetooth was a breeze too - i paired it one time and that was it. It turns out on it's own after a period of inactivity, and turning it back on just means pushing the Xbox button. With the PS4 controller getting it to reconnect each time watching an ordeal because of the software. One thing that excited me was the ability to plug a wired headset into the jack on the controller and still use the controller wirelessly. That meant I could use a wired headset from across the room just for discord or skype, while still having the sound for the game coming from my high end speakers. But there was a snag - you can't do that over Bluetooth. You can only do it plugged in over usb, or if using the Xbox one wireless adapter, which uses a proprietary format. Thankfully, that adapter was less than 20$ so I ordered one. But there is another snag - you either need to be using a headset with the special Xbox one headset adapter built in, or buy the adapter separately. Now this was a bummer - the adapter itself costs around 60$! So I tried plugging in a regular 3.5 headset to see if it would work anyway, but unfortunately it did not. I bought a Microsoft brand Xbox one headset today, and it works great. The quality isn't amazing, but that's the headsets fault and not the controller. I'm just using the headset for discord anyway - the quality doesn't have to be amazing because it's just for chat. It only covers one ear and is lightweight, so I'm perfectly able to hear the sound from the game itself coming from my nice speakers. Overall, this is a fantastic controller. Probably one of the best I've ever had. I highly recommend getting one, but just be aware that getting the headphone jack to function on a PC is more work than it appears and costs money.

More than a controller this is a lesson of perseverance, patience; a test of faith and a motivational story... all in one! :D UPDATED TLDR: when i first got it I could NOT use it on my PC at all and after a lot of trial and error and extensive troubleshooting and extreme googling I was able to get it to work on Windows 10 Anniversary edition. Now that it is connected and I have used it for a few days I can Highly recommend this controller for the PC gaming community that is trying racing/fighting/some platformer indie games on the couch! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My first impression: I have Windows 10 anniversary edition and was hoping to use this controller... it pairs via bluetooth and doesn't stop blinking as if it wasn't connected... this has been a great disappointment. There appears to be no registered inputs on any game or app... I haven't tried it on an Xbox one because i don't own one. The pros: -awesome texture on the back -new slick look with the faceplate being redesigned. -nice weight and overall apparent quality -maintains ergonomic design -directional pad feels improved from the old xbox one controller The Cons: -I CANNOT USE IT (***update: after some driver magic I AM able to use it and it works awesome!!) -mayor waste of time trying to set it up (*** I wasted so much time trying to set it up that this is the first item I have ever considered returning... but after getting it to work on my PC I'm glad I didn't) -doesn't come with usb cable (I knew there wouldn't be one, but still I think one should be included) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: After hours of extreme googling (there seems to be a lot of people having similar problems with Bluetooth on Win10 AE) and a lot of frustration I was able to get Old drivers for the Bluetooth of my PC... I initially thought it might be a problem with the controller itself but now I have confirmed it is a Bluetooth driver problem... Thank you Microsoft! lol It appears that with the new Windows 10 AE has opted to go towards "simplifying" driver management and forcing you to use the automatic update for drivers... thus previous drivers for the Bluetooth were not easily obtainable. I had to downgrade my bluetooth drivers by taking them from a friend's PC that had not been upgraded to Windows 10 anniversary edition yet... (the controller conected to his PC flawlessly in mere seconds so i figured I could take the drivers from his PC and transfer them to mine... and it WORKED!!!! :D) and now the controller connects perfectly and has been working properly without any hiccups! I really love the fact that the new Xbox one S controller has bluetooth connectivity and, after overcoming the huge hassle of getting the right drivers, I really works like a charm. The controller is really responsive, I have not experienced any noticeable input lag and has been a great addition to the couch PC gaming experience. [[[[ Would highly recommend to anyone looking to buy a new controller for their pc (but with the warning of the possibility of having a horrible time connecting it, maybe), because after all the pain of getting it to work, once it did work, it worked amazing and it really feels superior to the old Xbox one controller. ]]]] If you read the whole thing then you must be really interested in this controller so Go get it! if it doesn't work at first, be patient and it will sort out eventually! :D

I love these controllers, but they are always defective in some way. I've ordered at least 5 of them, and each one had their own unique combination of defects. Test everything about the controller. These are defects I've faced: - Bumpers make a loud, stiff, mechanical click instead of the normal smooth and soft click. - Triggers make a clicking noise when pushed down instead of the normal smooth feeling and no sound. - Analog sticks require excessive force to push down on them. - Back lining that hold the controller together is misaligned and sticking out instead of lining up normally. - The buttons stick down when you press down on them in certain directions (oh man I hate this one). - The D-Pad make a mechanical noise like something is loose inside when you press down on it in certain directions. - The battery cover is loose and pushing down on it makes an annoying noise. - The battery cover won't come off without excessive force. Yes, I've experienced all of these with the 5 or so controllers I've bought. Not fun. I luckily managed to get a white one that only has the bumper and loose battery cover issues. It works well despite its flaws. I would say that those two issues are the most minor of them all. I haven't been able to get a non-defective black one, which I really wanted. I even tried directly online from the Microsoft Store, but that was more broken than the ones I got from here. If you can, go to a Microsoft store in person and try it out right after buying it so you know. if you can get one that's not defective, they're amazing! Works natively on Windows without trouble. Although it is a little inconvenient that you need a cord (not included) to update the firmware. Takes a little time to get use to, but they feel so great in your hands. I've dropped it twice without damage. Keep trying until you get one that's minimally defective!

In anticipation of this controller's arrival, I went ahead and upgraded my Windows 10 to the Anniversary Edition. That's *necessary* to use the Bluetooth feature in this controller with Windows, and sure enough, when the controller arrived it took my about 3 seconds to pair with my PC. No trouble whatsoever, and games work brilliantly with it. It even supports rumble via Bluetooth! I'm finally able to disconnect my old Xbox 360 wireless dongle and have the same controller on both my Xbox One and my PC! In terms of controls, fit, and feel, this is a step up from the previous Xbox One controller, though not dramatically so. Yes, the shoulder buttons are more responsive, and yes, the textured grip was an intelligent and long-overdue design feature that makes it far more comfortable in gaming sessions. The buttons and triggers feel about the same, though I understand that the triggers are also a bit more sensitive and nuanced in the new model. The weight is about the same (and still perfect) and as my Xbox One had the more recent controller included, the headphone jack isn't a new feature to me (it was part of the previous controller redesign). The battery door seems a little more difficult to remove on this one, but it doesn't require a herculean effort or anything, and I suspect they just tightened it up because some people who are a little rough on their controllers might have had loose battery doors on the previous models after some wear and tear. While this controller does come with a pair of AA batteries, I never bother with alkalines and instead use rechargeable batteries (I recommend Eneloop). If you have some charged and ready, and another set inside the controller, you'll never have a problem with losing power and it's a lot cheaper than buying alkalines or proprietary charge packs. The bottom line here is that this is a worthwhile upgrade if you're a PC gamer, and if you also happen to have an Xbox One it's a nice bonus to have the newest, nicest controller (that allowed button remapping on Xbox One!) available for both PC and console. If you only have an Xbox One and don't plan to use this on PC, then I would only get this controller if your included controller is dying, or if you REALLY want button remapping. The other features are nice (increased range, textured grip, button improvements, headphone jack) but as stated previously you can get some of these improvements on the controller model before this one (probably cheaper now, too) and the other features probably aren't worth upgrading unless you have money to burn. However, if you're in the market for a new controller then this is the one, whether you're on PC, Xbox One, or various Bluetooth-enabled Android devices-- Your luck may vary, though, as it's not specifically supported on anything other than Windows 10 Anniversary edition and Xbox One (any model). Earlier versions of Windows aren't supported, and Android has its own ideas about how to deal with Bluetooth devices. Bottom line: Five stars. Microsoft hit it out of the park with this controller. If only the standard model came in black. . .

Came in a box with a protective air pack to keep the controller from sliding around in box I changed out the buttons and customized the controller as a Valentine’s Day gift for my fiancé and he loved it

Controller comes with 2 batteries for the controller and some paperwork which I didn't bother to look at. All i did was 1. Install the batteries in the controller 2. Plugged the adapter in my Windows 10 PC 3. Held down the sync buttons on both devices 4. Wait less than a few seconds for the controller and the adapter to pair and voila, I'm gaming in less than 5 minutes after opening the boxes. It was so easy I thought "Wait, i must have missed something because this was too easy... I hate to break it to the rest of guys who likes to over complicate stuff but things are just this easy these days. First thing I did was play Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition (Steam) and it worked flawlessly. I plugged my headphones in the controller and my computer automatically switched the sound output to my headphones. Device Manager won't show there is an audio device for the headphone jack on the controller until you plug in headphones. Note: I was already using wired XBox 360 controllers for gaming and had the Xbox Accessories software installed on my PC so that's probably why I didn't see any driver install prompts. Or maybe it was just blazing fast... All I can say is... Ever since i used the Xbox One controller, I can never go back to the Xbox 360 controller for PC gaming.

Disclaimer: This is a review for the Xbox Wireless Controller White Edition with Bluetooth functionality. I purchased the product at Best Buy and this is my opinion a few days after use. My thoughts mostly come from using this controller with a Windows 10 PC system. The revised Xbox One Wireless controller is a really excellent device. It is a giant improvement for someone who would be using a 360 controller, but also stands out from the previous versions on the Xbox one. You don't have to buy this controller if you already own one, although it would be a great option if you're looking to get a second one. But, primarily, Windows 10 users greatly benefit from this controller, as it doesn't need an external dongle to run. Though provided it needs a Bluetooth stick or built-in feature on a motherboard to be used, the controller has certain limitations versus the standard wireless controller that already comes with its own dongle. Nevertheless, it is an improvement. From the very beginning, the controller feels high quality. The packaging is very nice, with the controller placed right in the middle of it, and present in the packaging are the user manual, a warranty card and a set of 2 AA batteries. Now this is where I have the biggest issue with the controller. At the current year of 2016, I imagine very few use batteries anymore and I was seriously disappointed that Microsoft can't move on to get a built-in lithium ion battery into their controllers. This is my personal preference, but either way has its benefits and disadvantages. For one, AA batteries are much higher capacity relative to a built-in battery, provided the empty space for that is rather small and at least won't die out very quickly. I would recommend getting rechargeable batteries for the controller so you don't have to buy new ones every now and then. You can still use this as a wired controller, although a cable doesn't come with it. The controller looks really nice. Most Xbox One controllers do, but the white option really stands out, despite the endless available special editions. The controller's surface is very nice rubber plastic, which allows for a great level of grip when using it. The button layout hasn't been changed relative to the previous versions of the product, but an improved material quality is definitely welcome here. Whereas on the previous controller the plastic surface starts to feel slippery after using it for a while, here the rubberized grip makes that negligible. The buttons have been polished up as well. They feel very snappy but are also soft to touch at the very same time. The triggers and shoulder buttons are very snappy, but don't have a clicking sound for those who prefer that. Instead, they are very soft and silent, which makes the experience more enjoyable and no responsiveness is lost in that. The other buttons and the D-Pad feel mostly the same as in the previous controller version, although some keys feel to be more ergonomic. The back and start buttons are smaller and the D-Pad is a little more fitted deeper into the controller's body. The sticks are rubberized and feel snappy as well. Using these as buttons to perform an in-game action feels satisfying as they press very easily into the controller, with a smooth feel. I really appreciated the difference between this and a 360 wired controller I have been using with my computer, but this controller has had some nice touches to make it a better experience even when compared to a regular Xbox One wireless controller. Looking in between the hand grips, there is a 3.5 mm audio jack and Xbox's type of adapter for external features. I am pleased to say that the controller is perfect for use with earbuds and won't require buying an additional adapter to plug in a headset. The major addition to the controller is no doubt Bluetooth connectivity through Windows 10. Using a system like this, I can't say for sure if this could possibly work in Windows 7, but as far as I am aware, it wouldn't work on anything below Windows 10. Bluetooth functionality is a big deal because many would prefer to use a wireless controller over dealing with any wires or depending on the cable's length. The controller is easy to pair provided you have Bluetooth functionality in your computer, whether that comes through an external adapter or a built-in motherboard feature, simply power it on and the Xbox logo button will start slowly flashing, then one needs to press pairing button at the top of the controller in between the trigger buttons. The Xbox logo would flash faster after that point, and the controller becomes visible in the Bluetooth devices. Alternatively, you can also just use the controller with a cable, but there isn't one included, which may require additional driver installation. With Bluetooth, it simply works just like any device you pair. Once remembered, it connects automatically. The only real downside I can point out about the controller is in its audio experience. Some like to play games in headphones, and the included audio port would be perfect for it, if the connection actually permitted that. While the sound quality is not entirely awful, it sounds muffled and less clear than it would if plugging headphones into a device. Don't expect the 3.5 mm audio port to provide much sound clarity, which is quite disappointing to see. Bluetooth connection simply can't support the controls and high quality sound at the same time. This newer version of the Xbox One Wireless controller is a great accessory, which takes everything that made the original controller already great, and improves on pretty much everything besides the still present AA batteries. It does not require an upgrade if you already own a wireless Xbox controller, but Bluetooth functionality when using with Windows 10 is a very welcome feature. The buttons are responsive and sticks have a nice rubberized surface. In general, the entire controller feels outstanding when playing games. If you're looking to get a controller for your computer or are coming off from the Xbox 360 one, then I would recommend this. Its a really nice controller and perfect for easy wireless connection with Windows.

Comprei para usar em meu notebook. Funciona muito bem com cabo ou por bluetooth, é reconhecido sem complicações. A qualidade de construção é muito boa, mas não tanto quanto um controle de PS4, os encaixes dos plásticos não são tão bons e os botões parecem um pouco "folgados" e fazem mais barulho. Em contrapartida, a senssação de apertar os botões é muito boa, os analógicos e gatilhos são excelentes, e a pegada é mais confortável que o controle de PS4. A vibração funciona tanto com cabo quanto com bluetooth, mas ainda não joguei nenhum jogo que funcionasse a vibração nos gatilhos, só senti ela usando o app acessórios xbox. A entrada p2 só funciona com adaptador wireless, que eu não tenho, ou conectada no usb, infelizmente não funciona via bluetooth. A duração das pilhas que acompanham eu ainda não pude testar. Recomendo sem dúvidas, só deveria acompanhar um cabo USB na embalagem, dado o preço absurdo praticado.

Definitivamente valió la pena la compra. Este control para Xbox One edición blanco, es diferente a los que tenía que venían con mi consola. Es destacable del producto que en la parte de abajo del control tiene una textura que permite mejor agarre. Al ser blanco se pensaría que se ensucia más pronto pero eso dependerá de tener limpias las manos y después de usarlo pasar un trapo un poco húmedo para limpiarlo. Incluye: • Un código de GamePass de 14 días. • Una vez que lo compras te envina un codigo para descargar gratis el Gears of Wars 4. • Un juego de pilas. Lo adquirí en promoción a finales de Diciembre del 2018 por $868.00, llegó antes de lo marcado. Llevo 20 días usándolo y no ha fallado en nada, veremos más adelante como va funcionado.

This is a fabulous controller and probably the best one for PC (if you don't count the elite controller). The box comes with two Duracell batteries and the controller. The controller looks awesome and feels great in hand. They have nailed the ergonomics. The back has a textuered pattern for better grip. Coming to connectivity it works both with micro USB cable and Bluetooth. For Bluetooth to work however PC has to have windows 10 anniversary update (Aug 2016) or higher. If PC does not have Bluetooth in-built the controller does work with Bluetooth adapter (with Bluetooth 4.0). I didn't notice any considerable lag between wired mode and wireless mode. Unlike some other controllers I didn't find any dead zone in the joysticks or the trigger buttons in this one. Coming to haptic feedback there are 4 vibration motors on this thing. You can really feel the resistance while accelerating and braking in games thanks to the haptic feedback. The controller also has a 3.5mm audio jack. All in all an awesome controller.
