Great for sowing seed or applying fertilizer. It's well made and goes over the rough spots and dips in my lawn easily. Very happy with the spreader and it was super-easy to put together. Only a few bolts to attach handles and the control cable and I was ready to go in a few minutes. The plastic cover over the hopper is a nice extra touch that I like because mine is stored outdoors. I also like the fact that the gear housing is cast aluminum that can be disassembled for cleaning and it has a grease zerk to help extend the life of the gears.

Heavy construction of basic unit but spreader holes clog VERY often and control handle broke off on first use. Will try to buy control from manufacturer and will update review if company is helpful.

just used the spreader for the first time today and was disappointed right from the start. the unit has good balance and rolls easily, but the little wire clip that is suppose the keep the grass seed flowing through the holes to the spreader plate doesn't work!! it is just a skinny little piece of wire and isn't effective at all. had to keep gauge holes wide open to get any seed flow. engineering must have gone on break when that part of the unit was being developed. needless to say the whole unit doesn't work very well if the product you are trying to apply dosen't flow well. very disapointed !! other than that, it seems to be a well made product.
