I keep a basket in all our cars, and I have replaced a couple of old corkscrews with these. So far they've worked just fine- although they don't get much a workout. They are probably only used a couple of times a month- but when used they work just fine. I did not read the comments before I bought the corkscrews (for under 5 dollars!) and I don't think I would have bought them if I had read the comments. We kept it on the refrigerator and after the housing came loose the magnets would separate for the opener and stay on the fridge. We had been looking for a nice wine opener that was easy to use and this one seem to work but only for a very short period of time. Would suggest you spend your money on a better constrcted more durable opener.
