Is this a defect? I know it's supposed to slide down to adjust beam but it does em seem to stay in place** A: I am not sure what you mean about the shield. The beam is adjusted by twisting the head to focus. Try screwing the head all the way down then backoff until the beam is adjusted to your satisfaction. **Q: Dear All This maglite ML 100 are between 2 cell vs 3 cell, which one could I get?** A: The 2 cell is high beam 13 hrs. and low beam 48 hrs.
