Is the items strap made out of pig leather skin? And if so, can the strap be changed to cow leather?

Not really sure if its pig leather or not but i know for a fact that its a great leather band, very strong and durable. It's a great watch and I will highly recommend buying this watch. You can dress it up or down, either way it looks great and the watch its self is durable and fashionable.Hoping this helps!!

Will a 22mm stainless steel band fit this watch?

I would think so, especially if it is gold-tone. I love this watch and it seems that Swarovski has solved the band issue. The band would wear out rather quickly.
