It's made to adjust up to 2 inches wide. And it has both inch and metric markings (one on either side of the wrench) to use as an adjustment guide. This wrench is made in particular to handle larger nuts/bolts, so it might be larger than you need for a 9/16 inch nut or bolt. But, since it will accommodate a variety of nut/bolt sizes, it's a great tool. And it's not as large as most wrenches that will handle bigger nuts/bolts.
