No we did not receive a manual. This has many purposes and directions will depend on its use. We used it to hang silks for aerial dance.

Just curious.. Will the black one get run down buy the friction of rope, over time??

Basically, yes, but the coating is very tough and lasts a long time. I bought one almost a year ago and have used it for both rappeling and tree work. The black finish is still there where the ropes slide. Some of the ones I still have from my rescue and recovery days are in surprisingly good condition. Much will depend on conditions, such as useage in a sandy or gritty enviroment, etc. Hope this helps with your decision...

Found this piece for much cheaper than others advertised. Works perfectly. If using for silks it’s way cheaper to buy this separately as I did, as with the package deal they wanted 30 extra bucks for it.
