RG5000H Nibco 95C Repair Kit

I have Nibco 95C frostproof hose bibs for the front and back yards of my house. So far they've survived 10 fairly harsh winters with no problems, but this year one of them started to leak when it was turned on. Nibco rebuild kits are not always easy to find but this one was both available and affordable. I received it in a couple of days. Installation is easy. I won't bore you with details-- there are plenty of tutorials out there-- but I will say that I lubed all the seals with a very thin layer of Super Lube. The orings on the cartridge already came lubricated but some of the other seals did not. I also lubed any metal-to-metal threads to make sure everything comes apart the next time I need to rebuild it. One thing the kit did NOT include is the stem packing. There is a packing nut that holds the stem/valve assembly inside the housing. The rubber packing under the packing nut is not included in the kit. Mine was still in good shape so I reused it. It looks like a regular square-cut packing and I probably could have found one in a local hardware store if I wanted to, but I just reused the one I had after cleaning and lubing it. No leaks so far. I'm glad they include the vacuum breaker parts as well. The plastic screw-on cap for mine was in sorry shape and I was glad to replace it as well as the inner pieces. This kit worked flawlessly to fix the leak in my hose bib. I really wish they'd include the stem packing as it is the only consumable piece that isn't included in the kit. Still, for roughly $25 this kit will fix most of the problems that you're likely to have with this type of hose bib. UPDATE: The other hose bib finally started leaking out of the vacuum breaker cap so I ordered another kit. Installation was easy and I made sure to lube any rubber parts with silicone grease. When I was done, the hose bib worked like new. I'm really glad I can get factory parts easily and quickly.

This unit fixed the outside spigot. The spigot was many years old and the valve cured the leaking faucet. It was the correct form, fit and function. The description and picture are accurate.

great - took off the nuts, pulled out the stem and replaced the tip on the stem. all new gaskets was definitely the ticket to stoping any small hose leaks. worked perfect with my legend hose bib… photos are of the hose bib i have and the stem if you pull it out.

Was able to replace in a few minutes. Only thing I recommend is use a lubricant on the o ring when installing. Don’t want a chance to damage it.
