Yes the only drawback is that you ought to feed power to this light.... as in a battery back up or something. I know many people say it defeats the purpose of the GoPro , well not really sure there are going to be many instances where you do not and cannot use it.... but same may be said for half of the accessories I own, each thing may be suitable for many purposes but not for all. Just look at the photos. It is super lightweight, crazy bright and fits perfectly onto my Hero+ LCD. Since I have the LCD I was worried that the velcro strap would cover the screen completely and defeat the purpose of it.
