I use it on my sump pump circuit and on my downstairs freezer. It is very loud at night so I covered the speaker with cotton and tape to make it a bit quieter. For the money the performance is excellent and good design with 9 v battery power -- when needed. Further, the power cord makes it easy to connect to a crowded power strip/ UPS outlet. ### ⭐ EXTREMELY LOUD and EAR-PIERCING alarm *by E***S on December 26, 2023* Whatever you do, don't believe the reviews that say this alarm is not loud enough. I had to return this item expressly due to its extremely loud and ear-piercing alarm. This alarm emits a sound louder than my whole home security alarm, and while testing, my neighbor texted me to ask if all was okay at my house. I was planning to use this to monitor my greenhouse GFI, but if it did alarm it would harass my neighbors relentlessly, and I live in a detached house on a large lot. Beware how you choose to use this. In addition, if you have cats/dogs in your house, they will be scarred (yes, scarred) by this device after just a few seconds.
