Recently, my husband got a deer and wanted to make some venison summer sausage. The FGA my mom gave me did not have a meat pusher. This pusher fit perfectly and my husband used it on about 6lbs of venison. I do think the pusher is hollow, but it is very sturdy.

works great
I bought this as a replacement to the one that came with my Sam Baere grinder about 15 years ago, as the plastic had cracked, impacting the structural integrity. This pusher is also plastic but more solid - it feels like the shaft is not hollow like my former one. I anticipate this will last the life of the grinder.
