So it's not a Blue Chip...
...but it's still an incredible pick. Slightly smaller than my TAD 40, but after spending a few hours with it I found I didn't mind that at all. At 1.0mm its's also slightly thinner that the TAD 40, that's perhaps 1.1 or 1.2mm thick, but it turns out I don't mind that either. The sound is bright and crisp and honestly plays just as smooth as the higher priced spread. In response to some other reviewers comments, once you get the plastic shrink wrap off the little cannister, the case opens easily and once you remove the little bag inside the cannister, you can probably fit 10 or12 picks in there. Maybe Martin changed the design since their purchases. Oh, and I thought the little sandpaper grip you can stick on the back of the pick something I wouldn't really use or need, come to find out it's pretty cool as well. Now, is it worth $19.95? Is a Blue Chip worth $40? Give one of these a try and decide for yourself. However, like most things Martin, I think you'll find it's a quality piece of gear.

Better than Blue Chip
A couple of years ago while attending the Frankfurt Bluegrass Festival checked all the vendors and no one could replace my Blue Chip pick which was worn down. The local music store clerk handed me a Martin Luxe to try. I've played my mandolin with it at countless gigs and jams. It is quite comfortable and shows very little wear on the edges after a year. I've had Blue Chip picks wear out and even crack much sooner. The Martin Luxe is half the price and I'm glad that is availble through Amazon. One negative comment: Martin should lose the stupid tin can and velvet bag package. Maybe that would help keep the price down.

Not what I expected but great nonetheless
This is not a blue chip clone. I own a few BC picks, and the Luxe is something entirely different and maybe just as good. It doesn’t feel or play like a BC so if that’s what you’re expecting then you might be disappointed!

Solid Pick
I put this below Blue Chip but above a Prime Tone. Feels good in the hand and a pleasant contact with the strings.

It makes a difference
In comparison to just regular guitar picks (I've not tried a blue chip or any other premium picks, just regular cheap picks of various composition) this makes a pretty big difference. I was surprised at how much better the guitar not only sounded...but felt. I do not regret spending the money on this pick at all.

Takes getting used to.
First time with a pick design like this. Its very interesting. Its got Its pros and cons. Very well made if nothing else. Im going to have to get used to using it.

Bland, flat sound
As a ten-month daily guitar player I was hoping this pick would give me a smoother, richer sound. But, as many say, practice, not equipment. I stopped using this pick after less than five minutes after comparing it to a cheap Fender pick. Love Martin, but this pick creates a very flat, dull sound. The sound is more uniform, but, again, flat and dull. This pick is their thinnest, but seems too inflexible.

Whoever made the bevels on this thing was high
Attack is given, just like a cat. Better for all steel strings…
