Low Powered, direct sunlight, works for low water lift situations in bright light.
It is what it described. Using the nozzles supplied do work. Keep in mind, this is a low powered pump and the pump only works well when the solar cell is in direct sunlight. If you have more than 12 inches upward piping, this unit is not the right one. However, if you have low lift, and want a solar powered easy stream of water then this works nice. The only real issue is mounting the solar cell. No tabs, hooks, or clamps on it. Mounting the solar cell requires some creativity.

Easy to set up, strong flow and very easy to clean.
Works very well I have it in a cauldron, using the two tier set up. I love the diversity of the spray styles available..It can sit on the bottom of a shallow fountain or use the float ring to use in a deeper set-up. An old toothbrush and a pipe cleaner are all that's needed for regular cleaning. The battery keeps it running long after the sun has moved past the solar collector.

Works But No Solar Battery Storage Only Works When Sun Is Out
I bought this to create a wall fountain out of an antique lavage, that was Made in Italy , in the 1950s. It worked exactly as I hoped, as far as installation went - but before 10am when the sun is low , or as soon as a cloud passes & when dusk hits , it goes off. I wasn’t aware it had no solar power storage. I would prefer it runs 24/7 , as I use it to drown out the sounds of meth heads fighting in the streets outside my compound.

Just buy the cheaper floating variety
UPDATE: After just 5 days, this unit stopped working altogether. It was sunny and my other floating solar fountain next to it was working fine. RETURNED. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Just completed installing a very small pond in my butterfly garden and wanted a solar fountain to keep the water circulating. I have a floating fountain in my birdbath, but wanted something a bit more powerful, so ordered this fountain with higher wattage (2.5 W). First, it arrived with some kind of essential oil (?) spilled onto the box, reeking of a smell similar to camphor! I cannot say this is the fault of the seller, as it may have happened in transit. Took through cleaning and airing out for a few days for the fountain to even be usable. Since I have no fish yet, I felt o.k. with using it and not returning for a refund. Next, the fountain toppers that control the type of spray were not good; perhaps the holes too small? They clog within a day. So I just removed and let the water bubble up from the stem. The amount of water flow was no better than my cheaper floating fountain, so that too was disappointing. The solar panel worked fine as long as it was perfectly clean; once any dirt or debris gets on it, it produces very little, if any, power. But the most aggravating thing is the little motor that needed to be submerged for the fountain to work. There are suction cups on the bottom that do NOT work underwater at all. I tried to adhere to a brick and even then, the pump would eventually sink to the bottom of the pond. I am trying to figure out how to secure it. Overall, if I knew all this, I would not buy this item again. Since it did function, I gave it 2 stars, but the floating type works better overall.

FULL sun pump
This works well, but only if it is in full sun! I mean really mean FULL sun! One shadow can stop it from working completely.

Nice fountain
Great little fountain. At first I had a little trouble it kept stopping even in full sun. I gave it a few taps and it has been running great ever since.

Great size and great price
It’s exactly the size I need for my small bird bath. So easy to put together and works right away when there is sun. Hope the birds will come!

Almost but not quite - will only work for very specific setups
First off, the pump is tiny but seems to work fine when the solar panel is in full sun. I picked this one because it was described as having a tempered glass solar panel, and I'm frustrated that on so many different solar powered tchotchkes like this, the plastic coating over the solar cells degrade after a year or so and eventually stops working. However, I'm not sure that this is actually glass, it feels an awful lot like plastic, so I'm not optimistic regarding durability. The biggest problem I have and why I rated this down is that the cable from the solar panel to the pump is permanently attached at both ends. Most of these have a connector so that you can detach one end of the cable to thread it through the base of a fountain. Now I just have the cable dangling over the side of the fountain, which is unsightly and will probably keep getting disturbed and I'll have to reposition it. This also makes it impossible to extend the cable if I need to place the solar panel further away to be exposed to full sun. And you really need the panel to be in full, direct sun for it to work. Even a slight shading of the panel causes the water to either pulsate on and off, barely flow, or just not work. They seem to make the solar panels JUST barely big enough to run the pump, so there's no extra to accommodate less than perfect sunlight. The second problem I have is that there is no way to mount the solar panel. It is just a small, very thin, flat panel with an inexplicable rectangular lump on the bottom that pokes out about an inch so it can't even sit flat. Other similar solar pumps have always had some kind of mounting bracket that I could use to attach the panel to something to keep it fixed into position and out of the way. Now I'm not sure what to do with this, just leave it laying on the ground? That's not exactly attractive and is likely to get stepped on or damaged some other way. There's a ton of these little pumps on Amazon, unless you know you don't need to detach or extend the cable, and are fine with a solar panel that doesn't sit flat and has no way to attach it to anything, I'd look elsewhere.
