We had a massive issue with wasps in fruit trees and these solve the problem perfectly, but only if you follow the below advice. 1. Don't use water, instead mix the dry powder sachet with something sweet, I used cider because I wanted to give the little yellow monsters a party before their immenent doom (I'm nice like that) 2. The pastic hanging loop is useless and will break at the slightest breeze. Ditch the plastic hanging loop and replace with wire or thick string....better still wrap the wire / string around the neck of the trap for an even more secure fixing especially if hanging in trees or in an area where wind may be an issue. 3. It takes a good few hours / day for the scent to become strong and the wasps to find the baited trap...don't become disheartened if you don't see results immediately, give it a few days and you'll be shocked by the contents.

Actually this item works. Was sceptical at first, as not much happened in first few days but after that, literally hundreds of flies catched. Yes it does smell, but it has got good range and attracts flies from all around so can be left several metres or more from doorways, outdoor seating areas etc and still vastly reduces flies from those areas. Also got a few wasps.

Works great. But the only thing what make me wonder if this trap doesn't attract more fly than before because they are spinning quite a lot around that bottle.

For something that catches THAT amount of flies I just wish it was more durable. Easy to set up and hang on a tree, caught hundreds of bluebottles within 72 hours (GROSS) and then the handle snapped so half the liquid fell on the floor: also gross. Getting rid of it was disgusting and couldn’t cope with emptying it down a drain or burying it (?!) so just have to wrap in a bag and bin. Works…for sure. We had bluebottles galore with a new puppy in the summer but the whole process was a bit disgusting. Would recommend though.

I first bought the smaller two-pack from this brand. Poorly designed, not refillable, and not worth the money. Because they filled so quickly I thought I had a serious fly problem and upgraded to this larger version. That is where the trap gets you: you end up stuck in a cycle of buying more and more, convinced you are solving the issue, when in reality the trap itself is causing it. The attractant reeks so badly you can smell it two gardens away, and instead of reducing flies it lures them in from all directions. Yes, it catches them, but at the cost of multiplying your problem astronomically. The moment I stopped using these, the flies disappeared. It is a false economy and a complete waste. These traps do not solve a problem, they manufacture one. Avoid.
