Improved my overall solar output.
Even though modern solar panels have diodes built in to deal with shading, this rapid shut off device help improve my overall output from my panels when they're shaded.

Great Idea but Maybe Not Suited for Small Solutions
I've a small, double-rack ground mount solar array consisting of nine panels in each row. During evening hours, two panels on the front row end up in shade over an hour before the others fall into the same problem. I thought I could make two of these Tigo TS4-A-O Module Add-On Rapid Shutdown, Optimization units reduce the associated degradation of the entire row. If did not work. It seems the Tigo TS4-A-O units require some of my panel power just to operate. In the end, I actually loss more power than what could be gained over the one hour complication. That said, I don't blame the Tigo units. They appear to work as advertised, but in my circumstance, the gain wasn't worth the loss. Food for thought

Definitely increased my solar production when the array was partially shaded.

.01% failure rate?
Optimizer modules are working, unlike the previous two. Manufacturer claims a .01% failure rate, guess I’m just lucky. Order these well in advance since reviewers can’t mention wait time.

Improves performance and meets rapid shutdown requirements. Easy DIY install
I have a grid connected solar system which offsets 50% of my use. It is SolarEdge grid tied. No way to install batteries with it. I got a Bluetti AC509 system with 38 kWh and 8 kw solar panels and put them up myself. I found Tigo is the only open standard optimizer system with RSS to enable my system to be code compliant. Works great and improves areas of the system with temporary shade. Now I am covering all our energy use with solar and have off grid backup. The Tigo app is easy and I get a text summarizing the output each day. I can see a detailed layout with each panel. I sent Tigo a question about installation and got a response in hours and a follow up call the next day making sure everything was working well. Best customer support ever from Tigo. I wish my initial solar company used Tigo instead of SolarEdge which is a locked system. SolarEdge won’t let me administer my system or add panels. I can’t add third party battle backup. Tigo is the opposite and the future, especially in its ability to work with any charge controller or inverter and to comply with rapid shutdown requirements.

Didn’t notice any difference in efficiency. Ended up returning. Maybe just depends on your setup…
