This stuff is supposed to lower bad cholesterol and raise the good kind . I haven't had a blood test yet to see how good it is , but have a friend who dropped 20% of the bad stuff in 60 days. That is pretty good work. I will know in another month. Robert

This is a great supplement, contains policosanol, which is generally hard to find. However, one of the other ingredients in this supplement which is not listed on the product information page is maltodextrin. I suppose this is added as a filler, but NOW could have used some other filler that isn't that bad. Four stars because of the maltodextrin.

I am taking Policosanol for 2 years to lower LDL cholesterol ("bad" cholesterol), to increase HDL cholesterol ("good" or "healthy" cholesterol) and to help prevent atherosclerosis. I also take other nutrition supplements and practice lean nutrition. Thanks to these efforts I have lowered my total cholesterol from 193 to 144. How much of this improvement can be attributed to Policosanol I don't know.
