They're not made of steel/iron. I think they're cast aluminum, so probably more brittle and prone to cracking. If you tried to clamp them down hard enough for pegs, the threads might strip. Or you wouldn't get them tight enough and they'd rotate. For mounting lights on your crash bar, yes. Pegs, I think no. **Q: Can these Bar Clamps support 25 pounds?** A: I would say no. They are designed to hold a light fixture that weighs a couple pounds at most.
