Is the dvd player a smart blu ray player?

No.It only plays dvds/and music CD and it has no smart features

No sound from speakers when TV programs are played only on dvd's? help!

Make sure you have the HDMI cable from the LG sound unit connected to the ARC port on your TV. Then set the unit to ARC, possibly the same in your audio setting on the TV.

Why can't i get my lg tv to work with this system? Is it only for dvds?
