Our decking is quite old so after cleaning it with fungicidal cleaner and letting it dry in the hot sun, I used this. It's great stuff and soaked into the wood almost immediately. Initially I put the first coat on a bit too thick which meant that it took a long time to soak in. In fairness the instructions were clear about thin coats - so it was my own fault. It will easily cover a medium sized deck like ours. I did two coats and it looks great. There's a great depth to the colour. I used this oak colour as it was an old deck so it hides the old wear and tear. The water beads off the surface so I know it's definitely doing its job. Two coats was great for our old decking. I'll probably do another very thin coat in the spring to give it a bit of a lift. Review: Have used this product a couple of times now. It is easy to paint onto the decking and leaves a good finish and a decent colour. You can see it repelling the water following application. The one drawback is that after rain, I have noticed that around the knots in the wood, it leaves some white bubbles which then stain. Will need to reapply every year.
