This is about the applicator, not the steamer. (No interest in the steamer because I have a different one. Anyway...) I've tried three other applicators, and none quite worked despite them being advertised as for discs (not cups). This one, although a little snug for larger discs (lubricant helps this), works perfectly and as designed. This is the only applicator I will ever need, so I brought a second one in case something happens to my first one.

I got this disc inserter to go with some generic discs. I was grateful I found both for a reasonable price. I didn’t receive the inserter until after my period ended, so i got the hang of manual insertion and understanding how to use a disc. I have to say it does make inserting a lot quicker, but I haven’t used it enough times yet to see how the material resists odor. I was surprised to see that the pusher has a hollow end, where moisture/water might get trapped. I cannot understand why it wouldn’t work with a solid surface, and it’s not visible from the item pictured. I simply use a baby safe unscented dish soap to wash after each use. Will update on the potential for moisture retention.

This steamer does a good job cleaning my menstrual cup and works as described. It also has a nice large capacity. I use a small Saalt menstrual disc and it fits easily, so I think most cups/discs would fit fine. Pros: • Steams/cleans well and works as intended • Large capacity (fits my Saalt disc easily) • Simple to use and convenient Cons: • No auto shut-off feature — it keeps clicking every 15–30 seconds after it finishes until you manually turn it off • If you forget to turn it off, it will do this all night • Seems to take longer than the advertised 3 minutes (possibly due to water amount) • Residue buildup collects in the bottom over time and there isn’t a good way to clean it • If distilled water is recommended, it should be clearly stated in the description Overall, it does work, but I ended up switching to a different steamer that has a true auto shut-off so I don’t have to babysit it.

Love this! Super discreet, looks like a diffuser and gets my cups super clean. I feel so much better about using my menstrual cups with this.

I’ve been using this as a tampon applicator to try to cut down on single use plastic and it works well for that but you do have to thread the string into the hollow plunger. Very easy to clean & store. Unfortunately have not tried it for its intended use with menstrual disks though

I don’t understand why these are so hard to use. I have a disc and it doesn’t fit well. I was super excited for this but hated it. Feels weird to return so I kept it but hated it.

This product is great, it can just be hard to initially push a disc out. I use the Salt disc and after 1-2 uses it stretches out and works better! Definitely makes it easier to insert :)

Got this to try a disc for the first time because I was nervous about how hard it might. This makes it easier to insert to make sure you're getting it back all the way. I dont think I would have put it back far enough the first time if I didnt use this because I was shocked at how far back it went. Easy to insert and easy to clean.

Having a steamer to sanitize has been so convenient compared to boiling a cup in a pot. It gets very hot, so you have to wait to cool down before lifting the lid. The element does not shut off on its own but the light does when the cycle is complete, either need to set a timer or remember to go shut it off because it will probably burn the element out eventually.
