It is for tball. It fits our 4, 5 and 7 year old kids well. I don't know the measurements. It's a nice glove. Target has them too if you want to check them out there.

So if i buy the left hand throw option it will be a right hand glove????

I ordered both left and right hand throw and got the same thing. Two gloves one with a barcode over the original label, that are for the left hand (so you throw with right). Grrrr from my lefty!

This may sound like a blonde joke & i am blonde but i don't know much about sports.. If the child is right handed do you buy the right hand throw one?

Catching is not the issue. You can learn to catch with either hand. You want to the glove to go on the non-throwing hand. So instead of having them catch a ball, have them throw a ball to you. What ever hand they throw with, the glove will go on the other hand. That being said, you child will probably need the right hand throw glove which goes on the left hand.

Can a 5 year old squeeze this glove closed?

Yes we got it for our 5 yr old grandson n it works well ND he has no problem squeezing it closed
