Works Well & Exceeds Expectations - Good Battery Life
Works better than I had expected. When the word "Static" is used, I had the idea that it uses a charge like "static electricity," like when you walk across a carpet and get a static electricity shock when you touch something. The shock from this device is much stronger than that. A pet will not soon forget the shock from this device. It's more like the shock you get when you touch an electric fence on a farm that's used to keep the livestock away from the fence. The battery life is better than I thought it would be, they are the same type as used in smoke alarms, and last for a long time, maybe weeks at least it would seem, and there are re-chargeable batteries available, which the seller recommends, that I have found to be very good, charge fast and long lasting. I have neighbor cats that come onto my patio late at night because they sense the smell of birds that use my bird baths and feeder during the day. And as we know, cats like to mark their territory with urine, which I do not care for. I don't mind if they just want to hang out and harmlessly lounge about, but they come around late at night and are an annoyance, in addition to urinating, they trip my security camera in the wee hours, and I get woken up by an alert. I had been spraying the path to the patio with Vinegar or Ammonia to keep the cats away, but it takes time and the smell is annoying to not only the cats. I'm sure this device will be much more effective in training the cats to stay away. I only use it at night since I don't want the birds to get shocked. It's rated as an indoor item, but works well outdoors if only at night, as long as it's not raining. Overall, it seems to work well, my security camera caught a cat walking onto it, and I was pleased to see that it didn't harm the cat, which seemed to be intrigued with the mat, but not intrigued enough to come back for more after it encountered the electric charge being applied to its feet.

Read how to use it
I will be honest, when I first got it and used it, it didn't work. Some might be wondering why it got 5 stars, well that's because once I read the instructions and used it the way it was meant, it worked. It worked so well that even when it has run out of batteries, the cats stay away from the spot they would constantly go to the bathroom (even with brand new clean litter boxes). If you need to really deter them from going in a certain area, turn on both the sound and shock, it should work. But make sure to read the instructions.

A couple of zipzaps and pets avoid protected areas completely! Safe & easy to use.
Had a smaller scatmat for years. Recent loveseat purchase dictated buying another, larger one to make the underneath of it a No Pet Zone., since it has electronic motors and other hazardous mechanicals that we did not want our cats or puppy getting caught up in. This bigger mat, from SEERWAY, is almost the perfect size; and the thin construction makes it weigh next to nothing and slide under things easily. So far, this larger SEERWAY scatmat has proven to be a great investment. Like our other scatmat, we found this one to be easy to use & set up. At first, it was both zapping and giving out an audible beeping that we found annoying, so we adjusted the settings. It only took a few zaps for each of our critters, and now none of them even tries to get under the new loveseat! Only downside that I can gripe about is that the battery (9v) doesn't seem to last very long. But I need to make cure that the surface of the mat isn't coming into contact with any of the seat's moving parts or metal framework, which might make the battery drain faster than normal. Otherwise, 100% satisfied.

Doesn’t work at all
Was really excited to get this. It doesn’t work at all. Have a cat that has decided my home office is her place and started marking in here and making it smell like pee. Bought this to train her not to come in, but doesn’t work at all. Carefully read the instructions. Trimmed her claws to make sure they weren’t too long. Her paws aren’t furry. Pushed the button on the mat and let it calibrate for the full minute. Short pushed the button till the green lights on both static and tone were blinking green every five seconds. What the manual says means it is working. Thought it was maybe that the mat was new and still a bit misshapen, so turned it off and laid it out all night with some items on top to flatten it out. Next morning did the same routine. Push button and let it calibrate for one minute. Change to static and tone and made sure green lights beeping every 5 seconds. Put some food in my office so she’d follow me in. She stepped RIGHT on the mat. Just stood there too. Long enough for me to think “wow this doesn’t work at all”, and then even longer to where I thought “I should take a picture of this”. Stood on it for a good 30 seconds and nothing. I thought still maybe her feet were too furry since the instructions mentioned it so put my hand directly in the middle and pushed down. Held for a good 30 seconds and nothing as well. Battery is fresh out of the pack and fully seated. Followed all instructions (including battery pack facing up). Doesn’t work. At all.

They work great. For some reason they no longer have customer service. I got the email.
I purchased two, one for the front door and one for the garage door. I always have my shoes on so they don't bother me, but my dog sure knows where not to go. They work great.

Rechargeable Version is Better Buy
The pad is very effective at training our two cats to stay out of areas and off of counters. My only complaint: we are constantly replacing 9V batteries. I have since purchased rechargeable versions and highly recommend the rechargeable version over the 9V battery version. I only use the pads overnight. The batteries will last anywhere from 1-2 weeks before the controller starts beeping that the battery needs replaced. For the rechargeable version, I have left them on all day/night for the last two weeks and they still have 75% charge left. Note - after I left this review, Seerway reached out to me and provided 5 new RECHARGEABLE versions of the mats at NO CHARGE. It was a very generous way to resolve the situation and I appreciated it!

It works wonders.. on my husband.
This product is fantastic if you are attempting to keep your family out of your kitchen during the holidays. I can't say it will keep out your pets. I bought this in hopes that I could quickly train my 80lb+ dogs to keep out of my kitchen. They can nose my counters and steal food, so I wanted to teach them to stay out. Well... it turns out that you have to put rather not of pressure on the mat before it zaps you, and two paws is apparently NOT the right amount. What IS the right amount is one buzzed husband who went into the kitchen for a snack. I could hear the yelp from downstairs and across the house, so I know the mat definitely does it's job. It's also great on fat cats, because one of those must have laid on the mat in the night, got zapped, and caused a storm of destruction throughout the upstairs. He's probably traumatized, but I don't think it will keep him away. Instead, 12 hours after putting the battery in, my husband won't speak to me, the dogs are eagerly sniffing their next treat on the counters, and I'm wondering where my life went wrong.

Works
This has been the only thing to keep my cat off the counters. I know she's tried at least twice and jumped down angry. I tested it on ny hand, it isn't a painful zap but it's unpleasant

No siempre funciona

WARNING This item will give your cat some Anxiety
This product definitely works. Hands-down five star I believe in it because it only has to zap the pet once maybe twice if you have a really brave pet. I’m not kidding no joke once, and the second time he tried wasn’t a good situation. He knocked over a couple things so that in itself scared him it does take and require a 9 V battery and I’ve had no issues with it. I even zapped myself by mistake once so be careful because it will zap you very quickly and it gave me a little bit of sense of what my cat felt. So yeah get it. Buy it if you’re having trouble with the pet on a table or a counter that you don’t want them up on do it 👍🏽 up five ⭐️ On the little bit of a downside is that he did have anxiety when it first happened so for a few days, you know he took that anxious little pose that cats do all crouched up paws underneath themselves just kind of looking afraid and you know they’re anxious, but it only lasted for a few days and now he doesn’t go up there anymore. Good value its a durable plastic and the size is nice and long for tables or counters.

Useless
It'll last about 2 weeks. It'll work intermittently. Sometimes immediately, most of the time not at all. Very inconsistent and very cheaply made. Save your money. Try something else.

Keeps my dog away from the gate
I was really skeptical about this and was initially afraid to use it. Then my dog almost dog his head stuck in our gate trying to get to the door when we weren’t home and thankfully freed himself, however we almost lost him and that’s when I decided to buy this mat. I decided I’d rather scare him a little than lose him altogether. He stepped on the mat twice and cried a little when it shocked him, however he has no been back near the gate when we aren’t home because he won’t go near the mat. We aren’t even turning it on anymore just the fact that it’s there keeps him away. I’m so glad I don’t have to worry about him injuring himself when we aren’t home anymore. I do find it a little difficult to store since it doesn’t go back completely flat after we fold it to put it away, however if you keep it out constantly it will stay flat.
