As a seller of this product, we have measured and confirmed the length of each Diamon Strike on Box Kitchen Matches to be 2.25" long. **Q: What else can I use to strike matches on? The strips on the boxes are worn before I run out of matches.** A: You can buy an 8 1/2 x 11 match strike sheet, cut it to size & then peel & apply it onto any surface. You can also cut & glue sandpaper which works very well also. I prefer the match strike sheet but it’s up to you & whether or not you want to pay the extra money for it. Whereas most people usually have some form of sandpaper around the house. **Q: Do these matches strike on ceramic holders?** A: Yes! They work on my ceramic match holder & sand paper also works well. If you want to attach a secondary strike pad on the bottom of your match holder you can cut & glue it on.
