Is there a trick to getting it to charge? I’ve plugged it in with the phone and independently and can still only get 1 blue light.

Not that I know of. I dropped mine after about 3 months & it stopped charging so I had to buy a new one. Sure is nice to have the battery backup thou with my long days on the job site & usually not able to plug the phone in anywhere.

Will this work with Apple CarPlay?

Sorry,can't work with Apple Carplay.

Does anyone have issues with this blocking there cell phone signal causing your phone to say no service ?

No,my battery case never block the cell phone signal causing my phone to say “no service.
