Montech doesn't explain much about them. The case fans have their own controller, they are all plugged into it when your case arrives. First unwrap the velcro ties that hold all the wiring and find the wires that all the fans are connected together with. 1. There is a wire that comes with the case that plugs into the bottom of the fan controller hub on the case, and the other end plugs into the 3 pin RGB controller at the bottom of your motherboard. This is how you gain control with your motherboard. However, the lights have a seemingly endless number of effects that can be controlled by the reset button on the case utilizing the case mounted controller. Notice the reset button is plugged into the top of the RGB case mounted controller. Simply pressing the reset button changes the patterns and colors of the RGB lights in the fans. To change control of the lights between the case controller and your motherboard, hold the reset button down for 3 seconds once you get everything hooked up and working. 2. There is a black power connector on the fan leads that plugs into a connector on a standard SATA power cable. This is what powers the LED lights. 3. There is a single white fan power connector attached to the fan leads that plugs into the #1 Aux/Case Fan connector on your motherboard. This is what powers the fans. All the fans spin at the same rate together off the one plug, they are all wired together. If you hook it all up as outlined, everything will work with about 20-ish different LED patterns and colors you can cycle through with your motherboards RGB controller software, or by simply pressing the reset button on the case. You switch between the 2 methods of control by holding the reset button down for a few seconds. You will see all the fans flash when the setting is changed from the case controller to your motherboard controller. The value is insane. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3rd Montech case, 3rd time I’ve been impressed *by I***C on February 9, 2025* I have both the Montech XR and the mesh rgb case and I love both of them. I build and sell budget friendly starter pcs in my spare time, usually matx, so when I saw they had this case I was intrigued. First: the build quality. It feels exceptionally sturdy for its size. It doesn’t have that “cheap metal” type of feel a lot of other matx cases have. It feels very well built. The features on this case are extraordinary as well. The magnetic front mesh panel is a godsend. Cleaning out the fans will be a breeze for whoever gets this. The glass door and easily accessible door handle are a nice feature. The fans that came with are decent quality as well - although they are somewhat on the “noisy” side. Definitely not a dealbreaker at all, the cooler the better in my opinion. But overall, the quality is better than I expected but having two other Montech cases, it came as no surprise. Second: building in the case. It was EXTREMELY easy to build in this. I’ve built in plenty of matx cases and this one by far was the easiest I’ve built in. The cable management was practically done for me before even beginning the build. I altered some things around but otherwise I left the cables where they were. Take a look at the pictures for reference. If this is your first build, you will be pleasantly surprised by the ease of cable management with this case. Final thoughts: This is one heck of a deal for an matx case. I was not expecting a perfect case, but I believe I may have found it. Simple, easy to build in, efficient, and excellent build quality.
