Solid Amplifier with Solid Performance
Traditionally I've been a Denon fan, usually purchasing their top end AVR receivers every few years over the decades. Going way back to the AVR-5600 in the 1990's it supported Dolby Digital AC3, but not DTS. So I upgraded to the AVR-5700 a couple years later and used it for a few years before I had to replace it for the 5803 to get the next new codec or video standard came along that made it basically obsolete... The cycle of changing AVRs every 2-3 years continued up until now with the adoption of 4K video. So, I decided it was time to make a change and go with separates and after looking at several other options out there, I went with the XPA-7 for the amplifier, and the Marantz/(Denon) AV7704 pre-amp. I could not be happier with this setup. The Emotiva sound is clear and rich with no hint of clipping even when driving my all Klipsch array very hard. I recommend using high-quality XLR cables with good shielding for reduced signal noise. So far after 2 months, I've experienced no problems with overheating or thermal protection like some others here have reported.

Absolute beast!!
This thing is pretty awesome. It is soooo heavy at 25kg for the 7 channel version. Its huge too and its length is more than any receiver i have seen. Nevertheless, it delivers a lot of power, I can definitely feel that there was so much unused potential in my speakers before I installed the amp, specially the bass. My front LR are polks, TSX550t with two 8 inch woofers, 2 midrange and a tweeter. The amp unleashed a lot of bass from thise speakers. Very pleased :)

stable, detailed, cool
Stable and can amp music with details that I don't realise so in the past. It's cool(temperature) even though I use it for hours (normal sound level). Installation is simple and I can connect this with my original system within half an hour. Shipment packing is strong and well protected. Happened to know some bad experience by some people that shocked me if I will have it later but seems not to me up to this moment. One thing might improve is about the user interface if it can show the percentage output level of each channel real-time. That will be perfect then.

Awesome Amplifer for the money.
Purchased the Emotiva XPA7 / Gen 3 to power the bottom seven channels of an 11.1 home theater system. Room size 12ft x 10ft and treated with lots of sound panels. Marantz SR-7010 used as pre-pro, Canton Ergo 620/655 speakers (SPL 86.5, 4-8 ohm, 110/160 watts). Recently returned the little brother (emotiva a-700) because I didn't hear an improvement in the sound, but was impressed enough at the dollar value to try this amp. Going from 83 watts per channel (Marantz Receiver) to 200 watts per channel (Emotiva) made a immediate and noticable improvement in sound quality. Mids and highs sounded more forward and detailed at my normal listening levels (78-85 db). Can cranked it up loud (above 90 db) and still have "very clean" sound that doesn't fatigue the ears. I'm keeping this amp.

Quality amp, great sound, cool temp
Exceeded all my expectations on sound and build quality. It easily drives my B&W CT7.3 LCRS with no distortion or perceived sound coloration. This thing is built like a tank, yet is a bit lighter than you would think. It also runs cool... I assume the class H amp technology has something to do with the weight and coolness. Just pay attention to the depth of the unit. It barely fit in my built-ins.

I was pleased when a few days went by and received am ...
If I could give this unit zero stars I would. After two months of use the amp quit working. The lights on the front which are to turn blue when on are red and no sound. Sent the unit back for repair, told me it would be a few weeks as the had a back log. I was pleased when a few days went by and received am email that the unit was fixed and they were returning to me. When I received it back I could tell that the tape I used on the package had not even been cut open. So you can guess that when I hooked it back up I had seven red lights. No repair. I would be careful ordering from this company at this time. I will follow up when and if this unit ever gets fixed.

Best 7-channel amp available for less than 2k...
I just recently purchased my second XPA-7 amp after my first died in a lightning strike. While the new gen 3 amps are much lighter than my original gen 2, they nevertheless still pack quite a punch. I have this amp driving 5 Aperion Verus Grand speakers (2 towers, large center channel, 2 rear surround satellites) and 2 in-wall surrounds and it does so effortlessly. Great for both music and movies. I have this amp paired with a Marantz AV7703 pre-pro and have no complaints - sounds great!

Great Amplifier - Customer Service and Promise of an ETA - Not so good.
NOTE - My Amp was ordered direct. One of the reasons I chose this amplifier was because of it's weight and efficinecy, I do not need a bodybuilder to rack this unit on to my rack. Reasearch and reviews swayed me towards Emotiva. Never has my system sound so rich and dynamic, the XPA-7 Gen 3 added character and a sense of true realism to my theater for movies and not just that, this amplifier is great for 2 channel music as well where it gets even more power! YOur system has enough headroom with this amp! When setting this amp, keep in mind that the phase maybe off, the XLR's polarity were off, simple fix of just following your processors recommendation of a simple wiring change. And now for the for the customer service - I have been emailing Emotiva asking an exact ETA from the time of order to the time I can receive my amplifier built and ready, I was promised in wiring and email a 5 to 7 day turnaround with an aditional 5 days for shipping to my state. With an order date of April 15th, I received my XPA-7 on the 8th of May. I was promised a reply through email and received nothing. This could have been a 5 star review but because of Emotiva dropping the ball and with no follow up.
