A: I have mine setup in a horizontal position. It may work in a vertical position but in my case the horizontal position ust sat better

A: I do not know maybe an electrical issue

**Q: What type of pump is recommended**
A: I use model 2 utility pump 
115 volts A.C/ 60HZ/ 24watts/.3AMPS
Don’t know the recommendation, but I had it with my filter and it works great.

**Q: Is there a way to clean the inner  glass tube?**
A: I haven’t done so but it appears that one could disassemble the unit and carefully remove the tube for cleaning.
