Merlin 23L Backpack

I bought this 23l rucksack to use as a travel bag for weekends , and it has been perfect. I first used it for a one-nighter and then for a three-night long weekend. It holds everything for a one-nighter with loads of room left and it's a perfect size to fill for three nights, including a towel, toiletries, make-up, notebook and pens and a paperback novel. I think it would be big enough for a week away if I was smarter with my packing. There are lots of handy compartments. I use the biggest compartment for clothes, the padded laptop space for a pair of shoes and phone charger, the smaller compartment for toiletries and make up and the tiny zipped pocket on the front for train tickets. The straps are comfy and long enough to accommodate a thicker coat, the zips are excellent quality and I love the colour - the yellow and grey are really distinctive. The only downside is that it's not waterproof. The first time I used it, it rained very heavily and both the rucksack and contents were soaked. The second time I used it, I learnt my lesson and plastic bagged everything. I'm planning on buying another because I'm so impressed with the quality. Highly recommended.

Quality backpack and great value for money. Robust zips and well padded straps. Spacious and nice pocket sizes for my day hiking needs.

Great backpack waterproof but has a design floor for carrying a laptop. Only the sides of the laptop pocket are padded. The bottom has no padding. Had to buy a padded macbook sleeve to protect it. The pocket is big enough to fit the laptop in inside its sleeve which is nice just don’t expect it to be protected if you drop the rucksack without a sleeve in your laptop.

This is a fantastic buy, I would definitely recommend this! I got it for my travels to college and back. It has plenty of room for my A4 folder and A4 note pads, got room in there for my pencil case and water bottle and some other bits and bobs. Got little pockets in the inner parts of the bag to which is really useful for things like petty change or house keys. Been using this for a few weeks now and find it really sturdy and reliable to use. This is my crutch and I would say this is a great investment.

Each of my 3 children have one of these. They look nice. Very comfortable to wear. Durable. Enough room for a laptop (they have iPads / Chromebook). Compartments and storage pockets to please. Plus the price is great! 100% recommended. In fact I've told everyone.

I’m overall very happy with this back pack, great for work and travel. The reason I only gave 4 stars is that one of the little inside pocket had a zip, it wasn’t sewn properly, the slider came off, so I’m not able to close this pocket any more. But other than that a very good backpack

Good 20l daysac. Zips all seem well-designed, decent size openings, not too many fussy extras. I hope this one will serve me a few years.
