Review: I had a much shorter lifespan filter in line between my city water supply and my fridge ice maker. I put this in to replace that as this should last quite a bit longer. It was easy to install with what I already had in place and the hardware that came with this filter. I have stainless steel braided lines going to the fridge and the shut-off valve to the water supply in my basement so the fittings that came with it, that push into this filter and have the 3/8" threaded connectors I was able to screw the braided lines directly onto. Had no leaks first try! Been using it for a couple months now with no issues, iced tastes good with no chlorine or fluoride taste or smell. Excellent upgrade!

**Q: I used this for 3 months before my water started reading 100ppm, and I'm a very light user. It advertises 5 years. Why is there a huge discrepancy?**
A: 50-150 ppm is considered excellent drinking water. Are you using this with a fridge that has an internal filter? If so, did you change it at the same time?

**Q: Is it made in USA?**
A: It is NOT made in the USA!  From the label on box: "Made in China, No. 13, Yishengbai Road Jimo, Qingdao, China".  I bought this filter from all the filters on Amazon, because the answer to this question was "Yes, it's made in USA".

**Q: I have 1/4" pex tubing for my water line. how to i connect this? the 1/4" poly tubing od is smaller than the pex.**
A: My 1/4 inch just pushed into the filter and all was fine.

**Q: Will this filter reduce the amount of bacteria and germs?**
A: The answer is NO. This filter is not designed to do that. To remove germs and bacteria you need ultrafiltration system. reverse Osmosis and many others.
