I Remember That!: Captivating Stories, Interesting Facts and Fun Trivia for Seniors Review: ‘Who was the lead actor in The Ten Commandments and Ben-Hur?' - Charlton Heston! - Author Bill O’Neill has authored many books on Trivia and has become an expert in this field! His topics include movies, football, baseball, wars, rock music, simply random trivia facts and US States. Now with a nod to Senior Citizens, providing interesting reading material while passing the time at home, Bill provides ‘brain ticklers’ to challenge the at times ebbing memory range that accompanies aging with stories, facts, trivia and quizzes about that past – hoping we’ll be able to ‘Remember That!’ If you’re in the ‘senior’ line this fun book will provide endless hours of both memory regeneration and some new facts perhaps never known. It all has to do with the first four decades after WW II (1950 – 1980) aka the Baby Boomer years, and Bill addresses this in his opening comments: ‘For many of you reading this, those were your “glory years” when you were attending sock hops, getting groovy, or becoming a wolf on Wall Street. Yes, for many of the Baby Boomer generation, these were the greatest years for many different reasons. You probably remember how scared you felt during the Cuban Missile Crisis, or how you were baffled when you first heard about the Internet. Were you an expert with the hula hoop? What was your favorite sitcom of the 1970s? Did you wait in a long line to see the first installment of the Star Wars franchise in 1977?...Whether you were a kid growing up in the 50s, a college student in the 60s and 70s or trying to take over the financial world in the 80s, there’s something in this book for you.’ With that friendly invitation, the fun – and challenges – begin! The book devotes a chapter to each of the four decades mentioned, and each chapter covers history, pop culture, and science, ending with a quiz to make sure we ‘got it’ and a ‘Did You Know’ section to add to the facts and trivia foundation. For example, the 1950s chapter includes info on the Korean War, ‘I Like Ike’, Chairman Mao, Elvis Presley, Ben-Hur, baseball in California, Barbie dolls, slinkies Jukeboxes, Sputnik, defeating polio – lots of tidbits of information that not only blink at memories but bonk our intelligence, the result being a challenging but very fun experience. Not only is the book entertaining – it is also very instructive. For those familiar with Bill O’Neill’s talent for tickling the brain, this book is a must read – one of his best. For those who are simply looking for solid entertaining reading to while away the hours, welcome to the field expert! Highly recommended – especially during these times… Grady Harp, June 21 Review: Brain challenge for memory book - Great gift for seniors!!!

I decided to buy another one for a friend.
I bought this for my elderly mom for Xmas. After randomly reading a fragment from a few pages I decided to buy another one for a friend. Even I would like to have it on the table for reading during breakfast.

I got this as a novelty Christmas gift for an older friend. Having a quick flip through without damaging the spine, I realised that this might actually be a great book in and of itself. Hitting my mid thirties, I am beginning to to realise just how pleasant it is to fall back into a pool of reminiscence, and this does that for anyone born after 1945
